@black3dynamite said in How to mount remote filesystem over ssh (both Windows & Linux):

@dafyre Installing sshfs and winfsp via choco is older than the ones from GitHub.

If you installed them via choco do this to mount at the host root directory or other directories.
      https://github.com/billziss-gh/sshfs-win/issues/102

      Host root directory
      \\sshfs\remoteuser@host\..\..

      Specific directory like /var/www
      \\sshfs\remoteuser@host\..\..\var\www

Thanks for the pointer. I did install using choco. I'm able to make it work now.

Edit: Just to see if I can, I may go back and do straight installs.

As I said above with the latest version I mount the root directory with \\sshfs.r\user@host

However, if you want to mount another directory like /var/www you have to do:
      \\sshfs.r\user@host\var\www\
The trailing \ is very important!
It just doesn't work without it if your path is more than one directory deep. You also need to use backslash and not the forward slash.

I was wondering what permission and owner should files like html, php etc have?

      Normally you just do...

      chown www-data:www-data -R /var/www/html

      This is great. Thanks.

What is this significance to the numbers within the "{OUTBOUND_ROUTE_NAME:0:4}" preceding the route name?

That’s a substring. Look at the route name, starting at character zero and going for 4 characters.

It is Office 365 with Exchange - I have created all the records that Microsoft wanted me to.

So, just to be clear, this is 100% not on my end, correct?

It shouldn't be on your end, the message is coming from the recipient's end server.

Right, which means that they received it.

It's better to get a HVAC guy in and take some measurements. They measure the flow in the ventilation system and can tell you if it's enough or not. People die from CO but get headaches from high CO2 levels. Anyway, you trying to monitor the ventilation system is like the ventilation guy trying to monitor server performance.

If there is a real risk somewhere where people could die, you don't solve it with an alarm from amazon that you plug into the wall and hope it works and that someone will hear it and if they hear it they will know what it is and evacuate the building.

      @Jimmy9008
Taking into account the cluster specification you mentioned, StarWind is not the bottleneck as the network configuration might be. For the similar setup of StarWind HyperConverged Appliances, we install, at least, 25 GbE network adapters and switches, however, 40 GbE would be preferable. I believe you should benchmark the network performance, whether 10 GbE network is the bottleneck or not for your environment.

As it was emphasized, use Live Optics to get current performance utilization picture by your production. Additionally, you might use diskspd to benchmark storage performance and network utilization.

Please tag or dm me should you have any questions.

      Have a nice day!

@Obsolesce Step1 was to get the printing working. Now that it is working, I will be investigating as to whether the PCL6 driver works, or the universal drivers. They have with other older HP printers, this particular one didn't. thus the reason I presented the situation to the group. I am appreciative of all responses

What I don't know is, can more than one person share an alias address in Zoho?

No, you'd need a distribution list for that. An alias can only point to one thing.

Well the distro list would get you incoming, but not outgoing ability on that address.

      https://help.zoho.com/portal/community/topic/how-do-i-send-an-email-from-the-group-email-address-i-e-from-sales-mycompany-com

      Zoho Groups allow it.

So does Office 365/Exchange. I now have about 10 domains where we have users with their own respective groups for domains that they need to send out from. The main issue with this is dealing with mobile devices; there isn't a way that I know if to send from a group.

when a union gets involved and peoples' values are no longer evaluated

      uh oh!

It's not a secret, the point of unions was to represent the value of "breathing" rather than specific values. It is what it is, unions benefit those without skills at the expense of those with them. They only make sense in a "fodder" setting where the value of the worker isn't determined by their work individually, but the availability of the entire pool. Unions are just a nice sounding term for "collective bargaining", which of course is itself a polite way of making it crystal clear that the individuals don't have anything special to offer to can't bargain themselves.

Right, the only reason to want access to the server is to get access to the app. The app is literally the only thing worth anything on the box.

Local admin account, PowerShell, SSH.... five minutes to fix 😉

      I need that script

Do you already have a local admin account on each machine that is working and SSH enabled?

I’d have to look into the SSH part, but yea.

SSH is off by default. Without that, maybe PowerShell Remoting will work? You need something to let you on each machine individually to run things.

We have Dameware. I wonder if that could be of use.

      Definitely should be able to.

The law does not require a DID per location.

hmm... This specific statement stymies me.
Though in reading your additional information - assuming 911 is able to read extra information, I suppose it's technically correct. Instead of 911 simply relying up location data associated with DIDs, the PBX could provide the location data directly with the call.

What vendor is currently allowing this to happen, @JaredBusch and what PBXs currently support it? (I'm assuming FreePBX does though possibly only through manual creation of a dial plan?)

wrcombs.com is available. Go register it for a year at godaddy (or whoever) for $12.

Then, like @thwr pointed out in his list, use something like ad.wrcombs.com as your AD domain.

      doesn't sound horrible. thanks.

Welcome. Staying away from .local domains, plus knowing you are not using somebody else's domain will make your life SO MUCH easier. No need to start learning bad habits in the beginning.

Of interesting note: In Windows NT4 and Windows 2000, Interix / WSU were "add on" components for Windows. But starting with 2003 R2 and going through 2008 R2, it was built in. Then it was discontinued. Then revived with the totally different system that we have today.

Interix became integrated as a component of the regular Windows OS distribution as a component of Windows Server 2003 R2 in December, 2005 at release 5.2 and was a component of the Windows Vista release as release 6.0 (RTM November, 2006). Windows Server 2008 had release 6.0. Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 included SUA 6.1. - wikipedia
