@wrx7m It's just a SBC with HDMI out that allows you to use software to setup your scene. It'll take a few different files (but they need to be stored locally or on an SD card) for the unit.

It's purely a LAN based device. It can work, but you really need to understand where it's limit is.

They have their cloud service that replaces the local software. Also, it is designed for more than just LAN. At least, since the middle of last year, when I got one.

So in our situation, we had to open PowerShell and run diskmgmt.msc and it was able to open it. You have to have the full name.

This came about because someone installed some "Classic Shell" hijack software that removes all of the Windows Vista and later functionality to find tools. So the system is almost entirely broken.

You could also hit the "Windows" key + r, then type that in the run box and hit enter.

Only if you have the full name. diskmgmt.msc will work that way, diskmgmt will not. We tried.

Correct. I am surprised this became a post. However I understand with the whole classicshell situation.

Yeah, like I never have to know the whole name. I figured it was diskmgmt.exe. Nearly every guide only has it without the extension. And I've never had to type it out before.

Yeah, most applications for Windows are .msc or .cpl that control things as below:

      Services - services.msc
      Programs and Features - appwiz.cpl
      Disk Managment - diskmgmt.msc
      Computer Management - compmgmt.msc

For Control panel you would open just "control" and that's it so it can be inconsistent.

      And so forth.

I usually just start mmc.exe. Three simple characters to type (or seven), no need to remember names (I used to know them, but...) and access to all mmc's in one place.

Well we can do all that, I am just saying after a while regardless of the OS you get to find your own shortcuts. Problem with MMC is that you need to do like 5 mouse clicks to get to something.

You can only remove this line if you are going to host the reverse proxy on the same instance.

No reverse proxy needed if you are going to just look at it locally without going over the network.

We are just ending this project. The solution they chose was Zerto. We have gear in a colo with an EPL that allows for replication in real time. In the event of a disaster. I enable networking on my vms, change external DNS and we are good to go.

@thwr You could also just rent another identical server with Hetzner. When you have moved everything over you can terminate the first one. It unlikely that the second server has problems as well.

Will only cost you roughly 200 euros to do it.

OVHcloud has also dedicated game servers. https://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/game/prices/
I think they are in the same market segment as Hetzner.

I don't want to be that guy, but you could take the time you are spending worrying about this, and just change all of your passwords and be done with it.

The question was more for an understanding of "Could this be an issue?" @Dashrender I have been using lastpass for the past 3 years. I irritate everyone that needs to type in a password I have issued, because they are 20 char upper, lower, symbol mix. I wanted to ping the group and see if people who ask me if it is smart and legit so I could say yay or nay with confidence.
      That's all. 🙂

Of course - I understand why you asked about the service - normal users might ask you, you want to have an understanding why you do or don't recommend one or more of them.

What specific reasons for the CentOS recommendation here?

      Revisiting a little...

Basically the three main Linux releases supported by MongoDB are CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian. CentOS and Ubuntu here are mostly six of one. But CentOS 8 Stream I like a little more than the Ubuntu LTS options. We use Ubuntu a little more often than CentOS today, but in this case I feel that CentOS is slightly better for us. But really, all three options are perfectly fine. We just have to pick one.

If someone in the neighborhood is using MoCA, you could put this adapter on the business' incoming cable line, before the first split or amplifier. It would block their interference. link

This won't make any difference though - because the signal has to leave the building, i.e. go where the line noise is, to get out to the rest of the world... so the problem would still be there.
