@nadnerb ElementaryOS is nice but you might not like the idea of not able to save items to your Desktop. Deepin is pretty good too.

Just not on by default. You can enable it...

I've never liked how limiting Weebly is. I realize you want to do this for as little as possible but a Vultr instance at $2.50 per month is nearly free. You can setup your own WordPress install for free and get setup properly right from the start.

You'll notice performance issues in an instance that small unless you aren't backing your site with a database.

Either way, its better than what I have now. Its not fully loading on weebly.

      Nerdydad.me

Most web hosting plans allow unlimited domains and such, so I'm sure someone here can help out. I seen someone above offer. Anything will be better than weebly

You can use some SCAP tools to give you ideas of good hardening rules.

      Macrium Reflect

Ah, thank you. Macrium Reflect was the product I couldn't remember. It worked very well for someone I knew when he was in a similar situation.

Anyway, I will probably use clonezilla again

+1 one for Macrium Reflect as the best easy way to go about it (I've had some unsuccessful Clonezilla attempts before). In my experience with Acronis, you can't cherry pick partitions (like the OEM recovery partition) at clone time, but you can with Macrium Reflect.

Here's a SaltStack repo for Windows software:
      https://github.com/saltstack/salt-winrepo-ng

These are ready to go and install via your own State files, or CLI.

I was looking at a lot of those files, and it would appear to be very easy to setup my own in house repo. I will eventually be trying that.

      @stacksofplates building templates using virt-builder

Oh. It's pretty simple. virt-builder --list gives you a list of images you can use.

      0_1518740996335_virtlist.png

Then just create your template with virt-builder <os> --format <format> imagename.format

      0_1518741052670_virt-buidler.png

Then you can use virt-customize to inject packages, create users, set passwords, etc. Then just clone that for your template.

Is it necessary to add --selinux-relabel when downloading the VM?

No. That’s all in the image. Only when updating the packages with libguestfstools

from the looks of it your doing well, your work is it related to Mcafee Stinger project ? cause i like it.

since you know how to setup servers in good way, and getting more into SQL why not learn how to make good web business apps, to move any company paper work to digital secure backed up way.

      Virtualize the environment.
      setup good VM servers
      good backup plan
put some web magic and sql databases and be more into management information systems.

if you asking about IT titles, we all got weird ones and pretty sure at the end of the day we do 80-90% the same job.

Everything your showing me is making me like Docker less and less. Wasn't it supposed to simplify the sysadmin side of things so that the developers could do both jobs?

No, Docker isn't for system admins at all. It's just for devs (by design and intent.)

      That was kinda my point.

Fedora suffers the same fate as centos, and wants to error out but instead when it does not see the boot partitions it will error out quickly then check the next drive, and if it founds it it will update the EFI parition and add another line so it has fail safe method, centos wont do this. so the 1st entry belonged to boot part that was deleted and the 2nd as well, so fedora will keep finding them if you have them and it will auto update the EFI parition while it boots up and adds another line, so then you can boot normally. all this done in the background, you will just see an error fail for boot for 1-2 seconds they you will boot normally cause Fedora already written another entry.

I am starting to like Fedora for servers (minimal install) and if I want centos I can use it as guest vm.

I can't remember where is nabbed it from, but I use the following:

      Function Mailer { $emailTo = "" $emailFrom = "" $subject="It's broken, damn it" $smtpserver="" $smtp=new-object System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient($smtpServer) $Message = @" Insert a useful/meaningful message here. "@ } Mailer

Last line calls the function (duh for you, but a visitor here might not know).
