Home Lab Project
-
I recently picked up a new (to me) Dell R720XD for my home lab, stuffed it full of SSDs and now that I've got a ton more capacity, I'm itching for a new project that I can try out. Hoping to get a few fresh ideas from anyone here who might be working on something interesting.
I'm already running VMs for:
- Plex
- FreePBX
- Alfresco
- Nextcloud
- Sophos XG
- Fastvue Reporter
- Mattermost
- Apache Guacamole
- Minecraft
- Unifi
- Snipe-IT
- SuiteCRM
- Piwik
- A few websites, some WordPress some PHP some simple HTML
- Veeam Availability Suite
- Veeam Backup for Office 365

You can start off by making a saltmaster and configuring all of your list and VMs that way, starting with your favorites.

This. Maybe Sexilog. Have a look at Pandora FMS or other monitoring solutions. What about UBNT UNMS? Salt / Ansible?
-
What about real time monitoring? Zabbix or something?

Interesting package. can it easily monitor more then VMWare? Or did they only setup listeners for VMWare?

Only VMware last time that I looked at it.

For fun, I put MC on my VPS too.
You can check it out at: realmc.minecraftr.us (or tgserv.timothygruber.com) -
