Day 4 and and Autodiscover is still broken. Microsoft should be calling me any minute.

      Did they?

Ha.. yes they did and there were additional configuration changes made so that users are authentication against out on premise server, but the cached records that O365 collects.

And there is a new issue that I've been dealing with for a few days (4) were we apparently can't sync users / password / dl changes etc.

Even though the sync says everything is functional.

      Yup, same here.

I mostly browse news on my iphone or ipad. and the "reader" view typically gets around that.

      @op's question:
So now what do you do? If I drop completely to Linux - something like this would become a rather annoying event. As someone that has five iPads (in use), four iPods and two iPhones, that could get damn right perturbing.

Stop using Apple products would be my answer. Though you seem to be in too deep already.

That doesn't make sense though - Scott is a HUGE apple fan, and he's on Linux now too.

I tend to agree with Scott's comment earlier, if this is a problem, borrow a friends computer.

So - take @scottalanmiller and the fact that he is now over seas - how practical is borrowing a friends computer?

      I can borrow my daughter's.

If an encrypted laptop was stolen loaded with patient data, you could still be in the same HIPAA predicament depending on the judge and expert witness.

I am under the impression that OCR considers FDE as a non offense.

I mean, the breach happened, but there would be no penalty as the data is potentially inaccessible.

most internal storage for my money (but cheap comes first)

This is usually my last concern. Because almost all Android tablets take MicroSD cards. Tablets are so cheap and become "outdated" so quickly. Especially tablets for under $100.

Fair enough - I'm using it as essentially a cheap laptop substitute to transfer data from uSD cards to bulk storage via USB OTG

If this is a project for you... and the uSD card is in an Anrdoid device, check out Xplore File Manager. You can share a folder from your PC and copy it over WiFi using that app. May be slower, but will be less of a hassle than having to shuffle SD cards around.

Edit: Name Correction, link to app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore

Good idea actually! Unfortunately the uSD are in a cheap video camera

Ah... Camera SD -> Tablet -> USB OTG?

The solution to removing them and re-establishing the vSwitch and VM Adapters was to remove the Hyper-V Role and then reinstall the role.
      Specifically the following steps:

Where you using a Full server install that you added the role to? or are you actually able to remove the Hyper-V role from Hyper-V server 2012 (or whatever version you were on?)

He has Server 2012 R2 Datacenter installed on all their physical boxes.

      Anyway found a fix/solution.

Logged into the server and downloaded the images I wanted into the images folder. Then on the page I edited the source code and changed what it enters

      <img width="200" height="50" alt="wynnstay.png" src="http://ostickets/helpdesk/file.php?key=yicwxqo3dmnjhclxirdzgrpxljt7rrqu&expires=1485388800&signature=0cd9c75022866fe708bac4a35557e6b5e8b95ee4">

      to

<img src="/helpdesk/images/xxxxxxxx.png> etc and that works.

Not sure why it trying to add images with that code lol

Considering the solution - I have been thinking for several days that perhaps this issue stemmed from a problem with the disk on the original system. It might be slightly damaged - somehow not enough to prevent it from booting, but enough to cause the seen issues in the clonezilla image.

If I cared, I could run chkdsk /r on the system a few times, then take a clonezilla image again, and then try restoring that.

      meh.

@syko24 said in Cabling and firecode:

@Dashrender - I think low voltage is one of those things that a lot of installers cut corners on because most people aren't going to check their work above the ceilings or down the walls. The client typically just cares that the jacks work and that's it.

Are you implying that the client will check other things? Like power wires, etc? I highly doubt it.

No but cabling and recabling is sometimes done after buildout of an office. No inspector checking the work.
