This however has downfalls.

There is also a way to install XS7 on a smaller partition, but Citrix does not recommend it.

This is no different than any other file sync service.

That you get a means of recovery is great, but that does not mean it is a backup.

Well what's worse, it's likely that the only files that get history version are ones on MS's supported list. I need to find that list of file types.

That is correct for Onedrive. ODfB does version all files, I think.

If I have time tonight I will have to play with that.

I know it works on ODfB for things like text files. Not sure about every file, like JPGs and stuff. ISOs, whatever.

Not that far into the system yet. I'm looking to move over from SW, but haven't rolled this out for production use.

Staying up to date on the updates is pretty critical for XO. They update things frequently. You'll be running this update script a lot.

I don't know anything about the OCR piece. But time to build a box is normally about five minutes for me. The script, maybe ten to fifteen. The real issues will be time to download the ISO for them and questions about their environment. The Linux and cron pieces are essentially zero effort items. All of the factors that might create effort are the parts we don't know about.

Time to build a box != 5 minutes ever. Time for you to spin up a VM from a template and configure the basics, I would accept.

Even assuming that the latest CentOS 7 release ISO was on his client's infrastructure and ready to attach, it would take more time than that to configure the new VM, boot, install, reboot, update, and configure.

That's why it matters as to the environment. I can build a VM locally, and ship it digitally all ready to go based on ready to go templates. Just need to run the latest updates (two minutes normally) and apply the IP address and hostname. Then time to transfer the file is not in the five minutes, but doesn't take labour time, either.

vi doesn't kill files, admins kill files.

I had the same ERR while updating on both systems. But since the update script will default to run from the source, it didn't effect anything.

All I have to run is ./xo-update.sh
