Restore iCloud Backup to PC?

This program works great, but it's not free. Anyone know if something free? If not, I might be forced to just buy it.

Have never seen anything do that. You mean to Windows specifically? I think it restores to Mac natively.

@scottalanmiller This tool not only downloads the data, but lets you export it from the backup file.

Well sure - but it's only because of Apple's f'ed up proprietary format they use....so you're just locked into paying every damned thing.

All jabs aside - assuming you're OK with the lock in - the Apple ecosystem is pretty decent albeit at a total premium price, and a complete lack of options (ok that's just my opinion).

I do not have any links handy (and I am not going to google for someone else tonight), but I have used some software in the past that had no cost to open an iPhone backup made with iTunes on my Windows desktop.
It worked perfectly and was free.
I do recall that it was java based though.
I used to to pull out my daughter's Mincraft PE world and load it onto a Minecraft PE server I built for internet play.

While not using the icloud backup, I've made local backups of iPhone before and then browsed the backup to pull out individual files.
I posted it here on ML a while back.

Here is the guide I wrote on it.
Granted it list voicemail, but all of the content of the backup was browse-able.
