b. Free VMs Backup software availability
c. Easily manageable comparitely ( I am currently testing VMWare ESXi 6 free, which is not complicated for me and got an app for Android to monitor/manage few things on Server. And not sure how Hyper-V free is going to work).Looking forward for suggestions !!
easy, peezy...

Has anyone else been locked (aka suspended) out of their Vitelity account?
I just got a suspension notice via email.
I login to refill the account & it says I need to pay $16,500 + $50 to reopen the account..I called 'em, they say a few people are having similar issues

RE: KVM or VMWare

Didn't get on with KVM but thats down to my skill set. (i.e. limited linux skills)
No business should run on just KVM. Until the most current iteration of Proxmox I would never recommend KVM for a business.
I have used it personally for years now. But that is different than running a business. A business needs simple easy to follow processes that are enabled by things like Proxmox, vCenter, and Hyper-V Manager.
This is probably the best "common sense" answer I've seen in a long time. (I haven't read the rest of this thread yet).
And people wonder why, despite it's hefty price tag, vmWare continues to dominate!
Free isn't always free! -

Does the patch management in Tactical work or are those buttons just placeholders?
It works. On the demo it appears to be disabled
Have you actually tried it?
Yes I set it up in my lab and used it on some equipment/vms without issue.
I meant have you tried the patch management function?
Yes.
And the machines got patched?
Mine isn't working, that's why I'm asking. -

What everyone using now a days?
Ideally it would cover:
- Managing both workstations and server
- Alerting
- Patching
- Remote Access
- Hosted
FoxRMM... our own blend of Zabbix, Tactica, MeshCentral, Grafana, Unifi, Salt...
Never found a commercial RMM that I'd be willing to deploy.
Is this going to replace sodium suite or are you not going to release this?
At this point, not going to release. If Tactical RMM keeps doing what they are doing, I just don't see the point. Open source, making great progress, doing exactly what we had wanted to do.... we'd rather be supportive of them. Now if they give up and stop doing it, we'll definitely circle back. But right now, they are making great progress and have an impressive system.
What's so impressive about Tactical?

RE: Sonos
4k sqft
12 rooms
2k sqft open patio and deck
Ethernet to all locations and wifi throughout.Good, network will not be an issue.
Is the distributed audio system for the 12 rooms, open patio & deck?
You didn't mention whether those 12 rooms already had speakers? -

Starts with not buying Sonos
This statement makes absolutely no sense!
It does to me.
Obvisously @Dashrender thinks that Sonos has low sound quality and doesn't bring "nice sound and happiness to each room".
Considering where it sold and who it's marketed to, @Dashrender likely have a point there.
Do you folks simply not read what @JasGot said?
Where did he say anything about sound quality?
"I'd like to change my entire home to SONOS..." is that so hard to digest?Didn't you read @jasgot said "bring nice sound and happiness to each room"?
I guess you forgot to read the part before that, so let me help you, "We don't have elaborate needs"
Don't conflate nice sound = audiophile. -
