This also flags ChatGPT because it misunderstood the topic.

      Like this?
Interactive AI incorrectly describes Japan's Shiga gov. as 'Rurouni Kenshin' manga creator

OTSU -- Shiga Gov. Taizo Mikazuki is a "manga artist" known for the popular work "Rurouni Kenshin" -- or at least that's the mistaken description one artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot would have users believe.

When a Shiga Prefectural Government employee asked ChatGPT about Taizo Mikazuki it apparently explained that he was a "Japanese manga artist." Microsoft's Bing AI, meanwhile, correctly gave his job title as governor of Shiga Prefecture but provided an incorrect job history. The interactions serve as a reminder that chatbots may be providing a mixture of false information to users.

@travisdh1 what issue are you referring too? As far as I recall everything that is needed is included in the appropriate script install/upgrade

It's git, not the scripts. Since you need to have your git user information entered for it to work, would be good to have it added to the instructions.

I don't understand. Do you have to have a github account and be logged in to be able to download anything from github?

I can reach this without being logged in:
      https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Jarli01/xenorchestra_installer/master/xo_install.sh

No you don't have to actually have an account, it's a git requirement to put something in there though and we don't autofill that information in case someone wants to supply their account details.

<rant>NodeBB works like crap on all threads that are longer than a page or two. You can't just grab the scroll bar and find all posts. You have to release it and grab it again for the page to realize there are more posts to show. Also you can just use pgup/pgdn either. It will get a couple of posts then stop unless you work really slow. At least on Firefox.

And it's so many round trips to the server just to get a few posts. I which it would get at least a hundred posts or so in one go. Bandwidth needs are minimal. Posts on ML is mostly just a few lines of text. </rant>

I can't stand NodeBB on mobile. It's absolute shit in that aspect. On desktop it's great though. But I'd be on way more of it worked half decently on mobile.

@stacksofplates like let the san use uts own snapshot/backup sw?

Yes, which isn't quite fully offloaded, but a reliable means of communications so that the SAN can do the majority of the work.

Actually vVols is different than SAN Snap-ins in how snapshot offload is done. VMFS snapshots do not exist at all in the case you use them. You also get a management, and command integration so you can set compliance requirements (encryption, retention, replication, performance minimums) and apply policies automatically (using OpenStack, VCD, vRA etc) and it will validate that those configurations are continuously met and alert if not. Nifty stuff.

Correct you do have QoS. It is on the VLAN, that contains the voice devices.

So the following is an incorrect assumption.

@scottalanmiller said in Time to gut the network - thoughts?:

You might want to LEAD with.... since we discovered that QoS was not set up properly and has never been a problem we can assume that QoS and ensuring call quality cannot be the reason.

Let them come up with a reason if you head that off at the pass.

No, it's correct. They didn't do their jobs properly. They neither did the sensible, cost effective thing for the business, which would have been to not have a VLAN at all. Nor did they properly do QoS for your VoIP traffic.

So no matter what, they didn't set up QoS correctly for you.

At the very core of it is a Linux kernel of some flavor, but that just used to load their own vmkernel.

No Linux at all. Never was. Long ago there was Linux in the host VM (Dom0 equivalent) but never in the ESX product itself. That was just a VM on top of ESX that provided a GUI. But that was removed long ago and now there isn't even that.

Yes, something like that but a little more current would have been perfect!

A lot less moving parts with something like that... I'd be able to cut out needing another VM and Yosemite license.

      Try this google search

Wow your google-fu is better than mine!

all true but maybe they have a cutoff somewhere before it is recognized. I am just guessing though.

I'm looking into MailCow now with the holidays approaching (a little more free time... hahaha, not really) and it looks really slick.

Barnabas Health: Just standard desktop support, no frills. Printers broken, internet explorer won't load this website, imaging, etc.

Garden State Foot & Ankle: I was hired to build a server for them to house X-rays. I was a resource to the owner. He would come up with things he wanted to do and then I was the one to explain how to do them. Desktop support, cabling, purchasing, etc. I honestly was not called very often, the owner was and is a friend of mine who is a podiatrist.

The Arc: I was the director of IT. I was responsible for every appliance, server, workstation, etc. All devices. I handled all of the purchasing in relation to IT. I was the sole IT person covering 33 sites all over ocean county (very large county).

Will continue to update throughout the day. I have some calls coming in

YMCA: I am the point of escalation for all of the servers and network. Not a lot has happened after my initial walk-through. I found some incorrect entries here and there which were fixed.

City of Trenton: TBD, big list.

Note: I added some of the stuff @scottalanmiller said to do in my lab to train my resume. I am in the process of doing some of that at home
