On a related note, dealt with a client today that had pfSense running in front of their PBX. that was annnoying. There is no "SIP ALG" button, but you have to setup a static outbound NAT rule to fix it.

Some of the dependencies when installing it with pip are required to be compiled that is why for beginners it is just better to use either Anaconda or miniconda, especially for a Windows install.

@emad-r If you want diskless, look at setting up a PXE server to boot them from the network.

If you just want minimal drives locally, then go with the small SSD. I've not found a USB stick that has the same sort of write endurance yet, and have had many fail on me when being used for the OS, temp files, and logging.

Gluster would just be a normal network mount point to the compute nodes, and DRBL is another way to network boot.

Converged or hyper-converged really doesn't matter, you want the most cost effective hardware to do the job.

Without knowing more about what you're trying to accomplish, we can't give anything but generic advice, and even that could be completely wrong.

      Hi,

after you create linux nic bonding, do you disable the original nic adapters, so only the bond network adapter gets IP and has priority.

Cause the only way I saw activity of my nm-bond interface was when I disabled the ens33 and ens34 from getting an IP, so only the bond has it.

Or you keep all interfaces as is with the machine having 3 IPs, how then it will determine to use the bond IP and not others?

I used rr or round robin

I use only use the virtual NICs as well on Debian as well.

It will never show up there, you need to add it manually the first time. Also do not setup FUll Mailbox Access with Send As, it causes huge issues.

What issues have you seen? Full access to someone with SendAs isn't something I'd often configure, but I don't see the technical pitfall of it.

The SendAs will fail to send since Outlook believes the mailbox is already on the Mailbox and will fail to send. This happens because Outlook has the two accounts on the same profile.

      I see.

NTG uses a responsive firewall on its internal PBX and have very very little rare issues. Set the phones server, stun, and such and you are good to go.

You use STUN with the responsive firewall ? I haven’t had to use STUN for a while now, but I know a lot of people still have to use it. Just curious as to why?

We use STUN always. The responsive firewall doesn't affect the need for STUN in any way. STUN is for the end points, not the server.

Does the traffic from the endpoint via STUN not also appear form the STUN IP to the server? I rarely use it. so just wondering.

Certainly this isnt true, end of year before it is added?

They can't add it before Fedora 28 comes out. Fedora is not a rolling release, so you can't add a new PHP until the new release is out. We've known that it couldn't come till Fedora 28 since Fedora 27 announced its PHP version like eight months ago.

Here is the CTSLabs "Proof of Concept" video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrhVhFHTe9o. I think they're trying to demonstrate that they can flash the UEFI with a BIOS whose hash doesn't match a valid one. I'm not entirely sure. They lost a ton of credibility when they stated that a typical way for an attacker to hack a server is using the BUILTIN\Administrator account and then copy over the BIOS file to the C$.

This is claiming that the default firewall setup blocks ping and shows how to enable it. I've personally never seen this and have always been able to ping.

EDIT: With the firewall off, though, this doesn't seem to apply.

This post got me to thinking. I dug a bit deeper into the firewall. I found something that did the trick. I was checking the Firewall of the Windows and not that of the AV. Once I did some testing and search further into the AV, I found a way to allow pinging to take place.
With that said, I would like to thank all of you for coming to my rescue. Thank so much for all of your insight.

General rule of thumb... don't use AV firewall. The OS has an excellent, straightforward, easy to manage, well known, enterprise class firewall. Some random, unknown third party firewall is a bad idea.

Strong best practice: Never run two firewalls on your devices.

You can add an index as well, to avoid having duplicates occur in the future:

      db.myCollection.createIndex({"my_field_to_be_unique":1},{unique:true})

      Good idea.
