The Box has the PCIE Slots. You put it in there. and connect the mac Mini Via thunderbolt. It also means you can add more Nics, etc.

Oh okay, interesting. Not bad then.

I rant that over in my mind, and it seemed that if the reboot failed, you would not get any type of email.

If the reboot failed to run completely (like the system was down, cron had crashed, things were frozen) you would get no email either. You are making the system report on itself with is not good.

That's why the system should reboot itself (no way around that) but the monitoring of whether it is up or not should be done externally.

    Hi Dash

We've been on holiday all last week, so I haven't had time to reply!

To clarify, the stored job feature works when sending to the old print server, but not the new one. HOWEVER! I've tried again and it is now working on the new print server. Not sure what I'm doing differently now to before I went on holiday. I hate printers! Anyway, I'm back on track. It is still slow accessing the printer, which I'm suspicious about. I will now setup some other HP printers and see if they are any quicker or have similar issues with stored jobs and will report back.

Should look into using Send-MailMessage for email. It's a lot easier to work with.

Just migrated my UniFi controller to a Ubuntu box today.

Chose Ubuntu because they have package updating for it. To go the CentOS route would require manual downloading and extracting of tar files.

Having problems with the UAP at one site not wanting to update and stay online.

Prior to migrating, I updated the Windows controller from 3.2.10 to 4.6.6 and updated all the AP's connected to it.

I downloaded the config backup from the existing controller GUI and then shut down the machine.

Then I spun up the new VM and restored the back on the first startup wizard screen. all up and happy.

But another article state that you can share any network you have acess too.

So this implies that once my network is shared with you, it will not automatically share past you. But you can go into your wireless networks and share it to your friends.

Right, if everyone shares everything that they have access to, it would quickly have a network effect of going to just about everywhere. Seven orders of Kevin Bacon and all of that.

Which articles are right is the big question.

It seems to happen with most expensive laptops. They just aren't worth it.better to keep desktops for performance and laptops for mobility.

I owe you an I told you so. Ditching the ASUS too and back on my workstation. Ordered a new motherboard and GTX 980. Going to pick up a weaker laptop.

Turns out that even on the highest end gaming laptops money can buy ( that aren't $4,000+ w/ SLI and 3 minutes battery life ) you can't develop for Oculus, which is my next little adventure.

Sidenote: God it's good to be back on a desktop

I can handle this for you for a flat fee. I promise results within 30 days, or your money back.

Lol. We have to do this the legal way. We are a large company and someone is always trying to sue us. Heck we have people try to send us product we never order then sue us when we don't pay their invoices.

Really quite simple since NVM is so simple itself. Just used the standard curl + bash command to run the NVM install of the version of my choice (handling updates will have to come in a later version.) I use the install directory relocation option and that puts NVM into /usr/local/nvm rather than into the user's own folder. Then just source the newly installed nvm.sh file and run the NVM Node.js install command as usual. Voila.

    More or less.
Specifically, you need a SIP trunk to make outbound calls.
You need a SIP trunk with a DID to receive inbound calls and make outbound calls.

To expand on this. At home I have a SIP trunk from VoIP.ms with no DID. I have this connected to an OBi100 that is connected to a regular cordless phone. This phone is used by my wife to call Japan. I have no need for inbound calling on this trunk, so I do not pay for a DID.
