We do have dual-wan connections, but we're also connecting 3 locations together. If we only had one connection connecting all 3 locations together, and one connection died, then that location (more than likely to be a plant) will be spending the day without any productivity because they wouldn't have access to the resources that they need. The City (another job I had) had every offsite pointing via Dish to Cityhall just to get internet. Some were 3-4 jumps. Single point of failure for the entire City. Every electrical storm took our 25% of our dishes.

Also the SW interface sucks.. I am trying to simply tag someone and the fucking autoload thing is not loading, so I cannot tag them.

Let's not even get start on how long it takes to load a page.

General practice is to not back up the host itself. You should have a process to rebuild the host and, in theory, this should be incredibly fast and simple. Since restoring bare metal is always a pain because you have to get the restore going without an agent, rebuilding a nearly stateless host is generally faster and simpler and doesn't require storage and management.

That was part of my point... EU companies have SO much more money than US ones. It's mind boggling how different it is. What you see as "average" in the EU are setups larger than the entire average budget of a US IT department!

You say tech savvy. Does that mean he is correct in what he is saying? If so there really cant be a complaint. If hes wrong then you can document it and prove it. People like this i create special tags (ticketing) for so I can reference anything they've ever claimed/done.

Obvious question is... why? I don't mean that to sound like Docker is bad, but Docker is really not meant for IT, but rather for developers. You can use it in IT, but given that the obvious use cases aren't real strong, this doesn't give us a good guess as to what about it is interesting you and what you are looking to learn about it.

Its because its a cool technology which I am interested in. Do you know of any docker specific forums? Perhaps this will be more useful in that space...

I do keep typing 'dicker' rather than 'docker'. Its amusing.

I think your biggest challenge will be just how new Docker is on Windows. I tend to type docket instead of Docker. We talked about Docker at MangoCon 2017 🙂

Very general, but looking at how Docker and LXC differed in technology and intent.

LOL, LXC is the big container leader. Docker is just tacked onto it. Docker is LXC under the hood.

Not anymore. They dropped LXC around 2 years ago. They wrote their own library in Go called libcontainer.

Had to to be able to port to Windows.

Well, considering I have 8x 8TB drives in mine, I'd say those posts are full of shit. I've had HGST and Seagate Ironwolf's in it.

It depends on the HBA you use, not the MD1000. The MD1000 is nothing more than a long cable attached to your server's internal RAID card.

Maybe there's a firmware or something for the MD1000, that may have been done when I did a system-wide firmware/drive update on the server via Dell Server Update Utility.

I do not know the CLI command to revert, but it is simple to do in the GUI.

CLick "Check upgrades and then expand the Firewall and you will have a previous versions option.

Tested and you are right, rolling back to 45.5 and the message goes away.

You could upgrade to edge and see if it is different, but I would just wait for the next update.

I don't follow. You can put bandwidth caps on the guest VLAN at the firewall if you want to keep that network from stealing all the bandwidth. I think I have my guest network limited to like 6 Mb/s

Doing this is not as easy as it sounds and because it is a traffic policy, it will affect overall throughput.

Pagers are still a thing in a lot of places. Super convenient as they run on AA batteries and generally last the better part of forever on a single one.
