@JaredBusch I also didn't mind about zerto at the time because my resellers (asked a couple) offered really high prices - but don't remember the specific amount.

I just did a side-by-side install comparison. Here are the results. The details are in the screenshots: (no Cockpit in minimal install, twice as many packages in basic)

What is your form of connectivity? HDMI, DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort

Not really relevant as I have every adapter for my laptop. But if you make a person pick, HDMI is always safe.

Trust me, very relevant. Some projectors & video devices do not "play nice" with the Apple mini Display Port adapters
(mini DP to VGA or HDMI or DVI)

      What is your max resolution?

Want better than 800x600, I think that makes for a horrible presentation.

What's the res of the monitor on your MBP?

Only 1280 x 800, but it drives much higher resolutions when an external monitor is connected.

So to completely answer the question I posited.

      Install ibus-anthy

      dnf -y install ibus-anthy

Next run input selector from the CLI or GUI.
      0_1495549541178_upload-da2d3633-a4c6-497c-9cb5-c82623e6ad7d
      0_1495549633007_upload-1ea06f93-cb6f-427c-8886-ed7a19c8279f

Change the Input method from "No Input Method" to "IBus"
      0_1495549692864_upload-a5e64fb0-1322-4b81-b3ee-671e4520bff9

Note, the preferences link here does NOT work for me.

Log out and back in, and you will see the language selector up by the clock in the tray.

      0_1495549958212_upload-3359ebb2-a45f-450c-a35e-2ef1e318ee6c

      Right click and choose preferences.
      0_1495549999445_upload-e4fa99c7-bc1a-4758-87cb-ae8e36722bae

Switch to the Input Method tab and click Add.
      0_1495550040150_upload-c98af063-de99-4348-a3e6-165bd59d3f66

Select the language you want to add.
      0_1495550072443_upload-602a1475-8934-456d-ace0-23c9396be86d

Select the input type for the language. In this case we want Anthy in order to get the Romaji entry of the Kana.

As a side note, my wife does not use the Kana Kanji input method. I am not sure how many Japanese actually use that input method. The one time I put my laptop into that mode, she could not type.
      0_1495550099006_upload-07b4232e-aa21-40f7-ab9f-834a08abc418

After adding Anthy, you can click prefernces and make any custom changes you want.

      0_1495550270252_upload-faeb12de-b3d8-47e9-8ff4-91ffe62d456f

The other thing you will want to do is setup a key combo to switch languages.
I like the alt + backtick (grave)
Click the button after the next method and setup whatever key combo you want.

I've never used more than the defaults (shotwell and gwenview).

Shotwell is installed on Korora 25 by default. Gwenview is not, but in the standard updates repo.

      I'll look at them.

Gwenview is Qt based so it will most likely install a crap ton of dependencies. It might be something to research before installing it if you don't want all of that.

      You could say that...

Ya I didn't know if Cinnamon included anything. I really only use it on a KDE system like I have now. I've found that GTK stuff looks better under Qt than Qt does under GTK. But that might just be me.

After I installed wireshark on Fedora 25 cinnamon, I looked at what gui packages were available and seen qt and gtk. I chose qt and it looks/runs great and smooth.

Ya Qt is awesome. It gives you a lot of flexibility.

It's been a while since I had a single Qt app run under a GTK DE so things may have improved a lot.

I'm kind of excited to see how LXQt turns out when it's all finished.

Just installed a local copy to see if it'll meet our needs for user tracking and such. Will probably pay for an instance on Hostadillo if it does.

Guess it's my day to resurrect old how-to threads.

Not bad timing. I am installing this for a client this evening.

FreePBX has a built in fax module. It can receive faxes no problem - it's sending that I'm not sure it can do.

I am personally curious how many incoming faxes it can handle before it has issues? My office gets around 650 pages of faxes a day, there was a concern around ML that FreePBX might not handle that well.

      FreePBX can handle it fine.

My concern is the trunk that he fax comes in on.

Been working with Yealink support on this and after confirming this happening with the T46G and the T42G phones, their support upped the severity and I got an answer back to add the below setting to the configuration files.

      transfer.hang_up_after_success_trans = 3

I did so on the T46G, disabled the custom firewall rules, and had the operator repeat the transfer.

      No ghost ringback.

I'll leave the custom firewall disabled and see if it stays good all day.

I'll test in more detail over the weekend or on Tuesday, whichever time I have a tech on site.

on my ubuntu machines the fcopy is always down. don't know why... but I do not need it.
