I'm installing this for the first time on Vultr.. damn, that initial install took 20+ mins, just like JB.

Adding more resources doesn't seems to help. I did it with 2 Cores, and 2GB of RAM took the same amount of time.....

Not too many things that it is doing that are likely multithreaded. Mostly just transferring files.

      @JaredBusch that is correct

I am interested in Zulu but never set it up because a 2 users license for only a year is useless. Or does that auto renew so I always have 2 users for free? If that is the case I will set it up on my company PBX for myself and another user.

None of my clients have had an interest sadly.

Same here, time out free licenses I generally avoid.

@DustinB3403 I've been thinking about investing more time in using CentOS as a premise-based server. I am not whether there are more opportunities for sysadmin or for app development, which has been my more recent role. Managing the actual LOB apps used and customizing, doing reports.

      Both, really.

And look at NethServer and Zentyal, they use CentOS as a base but make a lot of the functions easy for SMBs. Going after the SBS concept. I prefer to break things up, but understand why people like this all in one servers.

Zentyal is Ubuntu. ClearOS was the other CentOS based system.

      @jaredbusch

Is there a better way to do this with whats included in freepbx or commercial modules? I was thinking just putting the script in cron and just have it run every so many hours. Then eventually making a form to add or modify the data.

What I would do is update your ivr3 to include the id and name from ivr_details and think of those as the unique key. Or add them to a separate cross reference table, however you want to handle it.

Then add logic to your system to fail and notify if there is a mismatch (aka someone changed it in FreePBX).

There is no way to do this in FreePBX itself.

Once you change the database, you will have to reload everything.

You can issue the fwconsole reload command from your script. That is the same as clicking the red "Apply Config" button.

Thanks for this post, @JaredBusch . I got the previous month's bill from TPX and am going to start going through it to see how much we can save by switching from our PRI.

We have to upgrade (replace) our Mitel/ShoreTel Shoregear T1, so that will cost a few grand.

Call disconnected when other extension picked up.

Sounds like no audio device present (e.g. sound card with autosensing but no microphone connected) then. Unless there is some late negotiation involved with direct rtp setup and no common codecs.

However it looks promising and is open source. I only messed with it for a few minutes.

@scottalanmiller said in UK to block Kodi streams:

So in the UK, sports franchises now have "ownership" of the Internet and can determine your right to use your own data? Reading the ruling, they are going to block any Kodi server they want, even if you own it and are using it for your own content. They literally "own" you now, at least during the hours under which they are doing business - which is something that they determine.

No, they have copyright of the media. The servers being blocked are illegally providing a feed of that media.

      Where is the disconnect here?

The league is required to show proof of the illegal stream before the site is blocked.

That's what I was missing, and what I was asking. In that case,it seems reasonable, if hard to do.

According to the article, it is no longer hard to do. That is part of the point.

Although also according to the article, the process is secret, so we don't know what they are doing at all. It does imply that they are supposed to only be blocking illegal streams. I question that it must be obscure to work. They haven't said how they would offer proof, only that they came up with their own method for determining who to block.

This line here insinuates it is simply a digital fingerprint.

Judge Arnold states that technological advances in video fingerprinting can identify illegal streams in near real-time, allowing ISPs to be notified of new servers "nearly instantaneously."

So streaming over HTTPS wouldn't be prevented. Seems like this is going to become more and more useless as the internet moves to encryption as a standard.

Never had to do that. Seems like a script to pull it from time to time might be enough, though?

Set up a passwordless scp of the /etc/letsencrypt (or /etc/certbot?) folder from the proxy to the internal machine?

Any security risk to this? I don't know anything about it - I just see passwordless and have to ask.

It's industry standard public/private key encryption, so shouldn't be an issue.

You should go read up on SQRL. In my not so humble opinion, passwords have long outlived the point where they are a useful security mechanism.

I'm fully aware of SQRL - I asked Scott on Day one of ML if he would support it when it became available, sadly it's still not released to the wild 😞

With flowroute I watch my rtp stream go to the terminating carrier they are sending me to.

Who cares about this. You buy service. You stop caring once you hand off to them. If they cannot provide quality and you have a solid hand off, you find a different provider.

I think the transparent approach is preferable. Also they are the only pure SIP CLEC I've seen to date.

Not sure if voip.ms has their own interconnects to local exchanges though, seems possible with all their proxy locations.

I watched a VUC episode when flowroute was on years back and I agreed with a lot the guy had to say about the state of Clecs and providers like bandwidth. I had just always assumed voip.ms was more of a hobbyist provider like pbxes.com

Then again, maybe pbxes.com is also used a lot in production....

We do Yealink 48G with WF40 module all the time, prior to that we used Snom wifi 5+ years ago, which was maybe the only option then. Works great, no issues above wired networks if you have a decent wifi network deployed (UBNT, Ruckus, etc)
