Pretty sure it's driver related.

I didn't get online last night, so I haven't checked to see if there is a new driver for Windows 10.

I'm sure that they would. That the software allows IE points to how silly it all is. "We have to be SO secure... but we'll allow IE." It's all a joke, just a chance for the banks to exert control.

If I had the choice, I'd ditch any bank that requires IE for something like that. The Trusteer app does work in Firefox and Chrome the last time I used it.

Yes, it installs in all three. Not sure how well it will play with Edge since ther is no add on support built in yet.

Interesting that it being Windows only might cause it to not work on Windows! Although IE is still there, just has to be re-enabled.

IE does not need re-enabled. It is there always. just not the default browser, nor pinned to the start menu by default.

Where, is the flexibility vs a straight up VM, then? Each VM also contains its own Kernel, so any tweaking that I desire can be done inside the VM without affecting the Host OS (Xen, Hyper-V, et al). I get live Migration with VMs...

Docker is about application flexibility, not OS tweaking. You can't tweak a Docker container, it is set and forget. Docker is about making deployments fast, easy and dense. The DevOps ecosystem doesn't let you tweak running systems anyway.

If you want to log in and tweak running systems, you are in a snowflake systems administration model. You have to separate the two mindsets, they work on completely different problem sets.

For me thought the question is how drivers from Microsoft differs from the original vendor’s drivers.

As far as I know, the driver needs to be certified at MS end to reach the MS shop, so at some point the freshest driver can be obtained from the vendor directly…

@Dashrender I believe first is the VBR's actual license and another is a support package you can buy it addition to the first one.

Another strategy I use is interact with the group and find out their interests. For example I find out what fishing lures they like to use in the group and go out and buy and test them. Then write an article on how to fish them with the fish I caught.

You could have the group ask open questions and post them on ML for members to answer. Then post a link to thread in reply to a comment. That will really engage the users.

Okay but is consumer perspective relevant? If so, there is no point in even knowing the product. By that perspective many people in the 2000s actually thought that Linux was the new version of Windows and that LibreOffice was the upgrade to MS Office 2003.

I'd argue that being "easily fooled by unrelated things" does not make the opinion applicable. It is only a file system change, so while there is storage risk there is not essentially any system level risks, if that makes sense. The risk here is pretty much that the files corrupt in the process (or the entire filesystem does.) It should be extremely reliable but should anything go wrong, there is essentially no concern around the platform not continuing to work and so a restore is all that would be needed.

huh, I wonder how calendars in OWA on Android/iOS would work? There is the problem where many ORs don't have good cell reception, so that's probably not going to be a good solution anyway.

I have Snappy Driver installer I use as well as Driver Booster but I agree with @JaredBusch and @scottalanmiller that for generic work PCs, most driver updates don't change anything worthwhile. Microsoft will patch most drivers over time anyways, so as long as it's not broken, why fix it?

That being said, for my personal PC, I'm fanatical about keeping my BIOS and all my drivers up-to-date. It's just how I am.
