This is what we currently do for hourly phone system jobs.

      933b95d1-3c95-490a-ae00-02765016e775-image.png

Basically as long as you schedule it, you get the normal rate. Time of day doesn't matter.

Do you charge differently for on site vs. remote support?

No, but as I’ve said many times. We are not really an MSP. Strictly consulting.

better to use it on another VM close to that VM

No other VM. If we open the only other VM, ESXi can't work. So that tool, I'd expect, couldn't actually run.

Oh you can run it from any where, as long as you can ping the ESXi or reach it. but i prefer a VM cause its faster

I see. That was a problem for us because we couldn't transfer off of the server, their network wasn't fast enough 😞

I haven't been keeping up with Windows Admin Center for awhile. Was that an option to manage Hyper-V?

It will be, but I'm not sure that it is yet. We've tried and not been able to get it working even internally anywhere, let alone externally. Once they figure out stability and authentication, I assume that it will be great for that. Being that this is 2016, it's going to suck hard. And if there is a Hyper-V issue, WAC would be down which is a problem in a small environment like this.

I disagree on the idea that magement shouldn't understand IT. We shouldn't expect them to have a Ph.D. in IT and all the various flavors but they should be able to comprehend what's going on at a basic level.

Problem with that line of thought is that you cannot understand IT at a basic level and make any decisions whatsoever that have value. To make decisions of value you have to understand all the implications of the technology you’re in going to be dealing with. President or CEO should not be expected to know that kind of detail that’s why they hire IT.

Fedora workaround until it is released: sudo dnf install libgnome-keyring

I thought that issue was specific to Fedora GNOME. Ever since I started using the nextcloud app I've been including that package as part of my post install setup.

However, they don't have any standard Linux install documentation on their website and only show using Homebrew, a MacOS package that essentially no one on Linux uses. Very odd.

I just looked. I'm not sure what you're talking about. The page clearly shows snaps, dnf, apt, pacman, eopgk, and pkg_add for OpenBSD.

      https://gohugo.io/getting-started/installing

Completely different than what I got from the same link this morning. I went to that page, clicked on Linux, and they only showed Brewlinux, which isn't even the current name of the system.

Way back machine shows it's been there since at least the 13th.

      https://web.archive.org/web/20191113183617/https://gohugo.io/getting-started/installing/

Very weird. I wonder if it was a cache somewhere? I definitely poked around this morning and Linuxbrew was the only thing that it had and had it from every link that I tried on their site.

Issue returned for the last two weeks even on Fedora 31. Luckily the old F30 kernel was still there because of the lock and continued to work. But the 5.4 kernel came out today and it works again.

      I've had no issues again

@Emad-R It's all great having numbers and visual aid to show results but will you really notice the difference when using Ubuntu compare Debian, assuming you are using the same desktop environment?

That's the tough comparison. Ubuntu has more features and a different desktop. I specifically like Ubuntu's desktop. So going to Debian I'd likely modify it to the point of being Ubuntu, lol.
