Eh, I don't really care about that. We are all in a constant state of learning. I'm not in a position to judge anyone

Right, but claiming to be an expert and putting this as a basis of being an expert is laughable.

    • Known issue with Unifi Access points and 4.3.24.11355 FW

We started having problems with multiple sites where computers connected via Unifi AP's and 4.3.24.11355 firmware can't get an IP.

I found out that there is a known issue with the current firmware.

The work around is to change the SSID name, provision, and then change it back and provision. Unifi also suggested these settings:

      WPA Personal: ON
Block Lan to WLAN multicast data: ON
      Fast Roaming: OFF
      Encryption: AES/CCMP only
      Enable: GTK Rekeying 3600 seconds
      Enable Multicast enhancement: ON
      DTIM mode 2 G 3 and 5G3
      5G Data Rate: ON
      5G data rate: 54Mbps

      Sends beacons at 6Mbps

Or you can of course downgrade the firmware until there is a fixed version.

@travisdh1 Still planning on using Mesh, it's just at times Mesh is offline or won't send a particular key combo, etc...

I've been looking into Rust, that may be an option.

    • Alternative to Screenconnect (and Mesh Central)

We currently use Mesh Central as our primary software for remoting into machines.
We currently use ScreenConnect as a backup solution (when Mesh has problems, etc.)

However, ScreenConnect requires a Windows server (it technically works on Linux, but is not supported and for many reasons has poor performance).

I'm looking for suggestions for an alternate to Screenconnect that isn't Mesh Central. We have about 10 users and 2500 machines. I would like to host myself on something like VULTR.

SELF HOSTED, LOW COST or FREE is a HUGE plus.

@Obsolesce said in How to get Chrome to remember which monitors to open on:

@CCWTech download the MS power toys and use fancy zones.

      Link: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys

Unless I am missing something, it looks like that won't work. It all opens in ONE Window. So I don't see that it will drag the tabs the way they were...

And just this evening I went to watch TV and I came back... Guess what? Windows decided to reboot for updates while I was gone...

I gotta go back to Ubuntu I suppose... I just wish there were better games for it...

@DustinB3403 I do have a primary set, however maybe photos will help. On reboot I get All the tabs open I set to open on startup, but ALL one one 'Window' of Chrome or on one screen. I got spoiled because on Ubuntu it remembers WHICH monitor you had which tabs open. Photos coming...
