I think I asked this in the original thread but... why not use a CRM that lets you do more than just CRM rather than trying to connect a CRM to WP? SugarCRM might do everything that you need in a single package, for example.

Make the job sound much easier than it is, even if it's an easy job, in order to destroy his confidence. I'm serious. Young people in general do have a lot of unwarranted confidence about their abilities, but IT people especially need to understand they don't know everything and never will. I'm not saying be mean or condescending, but what I've done for years now is talk about the minor details of what I'm fixing and how it works, things they often don't know. Most don't say anything, but a few times a few have said they were over their heads, and one guy even quit, but the work they were doing wasn't really that complex.

@NetworkNerd I have 9 volumes, 5 of which are active. I re-create volumes every so often and let the backups on the other volumes sit until they expire. I am actually in the process of a rebuild. I came in yesterday morning to a failed drive. I put the new drive in at like 11:30 and it still says it has like 40 hours left for rebuild.

So for example, if it detects that you passed the --socket flag if would hit that condition and then look for the ${1} which would be the following parameter and sets the socket variable to that value and tells it to move on or shift to the next argument and continue the loop.

@travisdh1 Who/what is in charge of "controlling" all those users & their access?

    ownCloud.

I assumed the users will access more than oC even though the drawing doesn't show that?

    Ah, well that's different then.

I should've just labeled the server as "Services" instead of "OwnCloud"

Looks like there is quite a bit included in the free version for up to 10 premium users, and 10 basic users. Interesting.

    Yes, it is quite extensive.

    Time for new MSP? 😛

I hope this isn't TekSystem's cause I'm getting ready to contract some remote work to them haha.

There are other providers who can do work remotely 😉

This isn't working remotely. This is remote datacenter that the closest we have people to is 8hrs or so away. Most for Hands to rack stuff etc.

I have to look up SSL certification on CentOS 7 now. I've only ever done it on our Barracuda SSL VPN which was just an upload. Here we go

I think you need to look up SSL for Apache if you are trying to encrypt ownCloud. I think someone has a guide on here somewhere about it.

I think @JaredBusch has it in his 8.2 guide. I think he did self signed though. I'm unsure of how to do this on linux with digicert or something similar

It was a self signed for the example. but I use letsencrypt myself. Some clients using ownCloud have StartSSL certs.

What Windows 10 means for support... I have no idea. You'll notice that I only mentioned Windows Servers in my post due to the somewhat complicated world of the Windows desktop.

Isn't Microsoft going to bring that same style of update patterns to Server 2016 as well?

Very possible, but they haven't yet.

Can I just plug this bootable into any old desktop and see if it'll light up? Should I expect any issues?

Can you, yes 🙂 It won't damage anything. Will it work? Not likely. You can't do this with any other OS or hypervisor, you can't do it with Xen either. That's why Xen has to be installed rather than there just being an image that you run. The installation process is the process of customizing it for your hardware.

f[moderated], if that's all it takes.

I usually am drinking while I'm driving. No f[moderated]s given.

Because the open source code itself can't be gotten rid of. Once something is Open Source, it's always Open Source, at least that's how I understand it.

Exactly, open has total protection for the consumer. Once the code is open, it's open. Period. There is no going back because it belongs to everyone at that point.

like releasing a photo of yourself and trying to take it back. It's already out there
