SLAs vary a lot. But assume if you didn't write it and didn't spend a fortune on an attorney to review it.... That the SLA protects the vendor, not the client. A typical SLA only serves to block customers from dropping a vendor while limiting the vendor's liability. SLAs are what lock customers in to broken services.

The synology unit that we have apparently has this functionality built in.

I'm like 99.999% sure of it.

    Still room for error.

I've confirmed our Synology unit has the capability for this, just wanted to schedule a call with a tech and separate (living breathing) sales person to confirm details.

@aaron do you guys do calls?

What do you want BB to tell you? They can't confirm as much as you already have. Why not just test it? Or if you need a tech you need one from Synology, not BackBlaze.

So thinking this through with using the PA-1...

If I use the PA-1, configure it with an extension, and set it to auto answer, then use the RJ11 port to plug into the paging system RJ11 jack (master handset port that delivers dialtone) then the caller should hear dial tone and control their paging like they could previously. Does the PA-1 RJ11 jack function like this, or is it meant to be directly spliced into audio inputs on an amplifier?

I would have to test. I have only used a handset plugged into that for testing at some clients.

Anyone who thinks that disk encryption protects a machine that is decrypted is just wrong. Them being wrong is the issue. In no way does it imply that the service failed or is vulnerable.

It's like saying your seatbelt failed when you decided not to wear it.

@scottalanmiller I agree. I'm curious, why do you think that the connectivity in Italy is going backwards? And what about ADSL vs pricey FTTH?

Because studies show it going backwards 🙂 Broadband availability and adoption rates are heavily monitored by business and governments and Italy is. The biggest news in the world around that because it is the only European country moving away from Internet adoption - negative growth rates. It's real metrics from the ISPs, not an opinion.

Ha. One of those "well, I feel stupid" moments. Specifying the source interface in the tftp command resolved the problem!

    copy tftp://serverIP/filename.bin;int=inside flash:

The new ASA software version is copying over. Though it's quite slow. I'll have to see what tweaks I can make there...definitely not an issue for this thread. 😄

Nope, I didn't even respond, the person who sent in the ticket, has a team of 10 people, if he doesn't know who is on his team, and they're emails then we have bigger issues.

Check Frontier, I think they bought FiOS from Verizon in Florida. They should have FTTH 50/50 Mbit at least, Verizon goes up to 500/500, I don't know if Frontier has the same speed available.

I have Frontier FiOS now in Dallas, what little I've used it, it's good.

What is it servicing? One of your colos?

Lots of employers try to refuse vacation totally... and it is completely illegal. You can't refuse vacation for the purpose of not paying it out. And you can never refuse it in a way that causes someone to lose it. That's fraud and very, very illegal.

Another option would be to simply disconnect the network in the VM settings and then pass through a USB or something.

I've considered that in the past, but passing a generic USB through without a PCI card in between in a major pain.

It is simple on ESXi and generally not a problem on Hyper-V. I still do not have my home office setup to bring XS7 online yet, so cannot say there.

That is assuming you have physical access to the hardware.

Same with KVM. Just plug it in and pick the USB device.

Hmm. Can't select the correct answer again. Weird.

I was able to do it on one of my own posts in a thread i made. Can you select one of your own as BA? That would narrow down the issue.

Ya I'm able to select my own. This happened the other day also. I could select my own but no one else's. An admin had to select the correct answer.

That means it is an issue with permissions. Either a bug or incorrectly setup permissions on users in the plugin.
