I only use VS Code today.

Even if I was only Windows, I would use VS Code over Notepad++ now.

There is nothing better available since it can be universally installed on Linux, Windows, or macOS.

I've been using a Mix. I use VSCode some days and I use Pycharm/GoLand other days. I like different things about both.

I like PyCharm and its related tools a lot. I just don't use them enough (or like them enough) to justify the extra price.

Pycharm is free. I did pay for Goland because the debugging and some extra features are worth it. I don't need to use pycharm because you can use the Python plugin in Goland but I had a couple issues one time and just decided to use pycharm separately.

I prefer asciidoc to markdown. Asciidoc has actual standards for things. Antora will build a pretty nice site with your projects written in Asciidoc as well.

Ifyou just want a single page, Asciidoctor will build a site as well.

I had a look at asciidoc and it looks very nice, especially for larger documentation projects.

I have a couple projects in an Antora site. We had a ton more at work, but I can't show it on here. You can include multiple projects and have them appear at the bottom left, each with versions. We used it so that teams could create documentation for tools (or really whatever they wanted) and then that documentation could be scraped and included in the central site. I just have a few projects included in my site, but Antora makes that pretty easy.

      Here's my very bad/basic example.

Playing with Hugo today and I'm liking it a lot. Thanks for pressuring me to stick with it till I got it working ๐Ÿ™‚

I got Hugo working well and set up in Azure DevOps so rebuild the site when I commit and push an update to the master repo.

I really like it. Jekyll was great too, but now I think I prefer Hugo.

This is what I do for my blog. Except it's built with a GitLab runner and it uses GitLab pages to present it.

I believe that says " I've been learning HTML and HTML5 on free code camp"

It was the "coding adventures" bit.

      I gotcha.
I corrected that after you're post.

It's a great discussion to have because as you look at coding, it'll be really important to understand which things you like and don't like and know which parts are programming and which are not.

@scottalanmiller Try with another separator instead of dash, just to make check if it's the dash or something else. Maybe just remove it altogether.

Yes. Though I thought it was pretty straightforward. The videos are pretty good for free, but the full price of $29 seems optimistic.

No browser supports HTML5 completely correctly. Granted there are ones that do it better than others.

Partially because the final spec is just one day old. But in general, all HTML support is always just "really close." The closer the better, and that is what they generally compete over.

Agreed - and as we all know, until recently MS/IE just used to do their own thing, but now they seem to be at least trying to play better.

As far back as IE7 there has always been extra code snippets that will have to be added to deal with browser inconsistencies with HTML, XHTML and CSS. Most often MS was last to the party and only if you add proprietary coding.
