I've never used Verizon as my own service, mainly because their price is significantly higher than the rest. But I had to give up my cheaper Sprint plan for something that actually worked! Moving to AT&T was cheaper than Verizon, because of GSM compatible with most European carriers and therefore roam-able, and worked well in my home (Verizon, like Sprint does not work in my house).

Thats why I like TMobile. Uses any GSM towers that it can, included AT&T and whatever is local in the country that you are in. And at home it always works because they have full WiFi calling. So I never have to worry about it at my home, any family member's homes or other places that I go regularly.

That means that we have hit the tipping point. The world's largest SSD (at any cost) is now 60% larger than the world's largest spinning rust legacy style Winchester drive (at any cost.) So while SSDs remain more expensive per GB, they are no longer smaller in capacity!! We were told to expect that this year, but now it has happened.

Well you definitely use your phone more than I do.. Selfies - yeah just kill me. I've taken I think 10 in my life.

Sure the processor is faster, but if you can't tell any difference in app performance who cares? and it's probably just eating your battery faster.

Clearly the camera is better with more options, assuming those things are important to you. I didn't use to care about it.. but after having the crappy camera in the 635, yeah, I care at least a little.. and the 640XL is much better than the 635.

Screen size is a personal thing, not really advantageous or not.

How long does your battery last?

I'm pretty sure my 640XL is the LTE, internet is pretty damned fast on it - to the point that I almost never join an open hotspot because they are WAY slower than my data plan.

Yeah I was wondering how he was going to handle that ALL manufacturers today are pretty much guaranteed to be doing some sort of tracking. Granted that tracking is so they can make the product better.

The author also didn't mention if they did a fresh install of Windows when they received the machine - to me that was his first downfall, but the fact that Lenovo has already shot itself in the foot, this doesn't help.

Opened a support case (email only) with Ubiquiti after not getting it resolved in the community.

An UNBT employee is on the thread trying to help. Just nothing has resolved the issue yet.

Disabled a controller setting that makes no difference to any of the other sites on the controller, but at least UBNT had a decent enough reason for it.

Then they told me to disable antivirus/firewall... That is just a f[moderated] insult after clearly stating both in the thread and in the original email that this controller is running multiple sites and only this one AP is having problems.

But another article state that you can share any network you have acess too.

So this implies that once my network is shared with you, it will not automatically share past you. But you can go into your wireless networks and share it to your friends.

Right, if everyone shares everything that they have access to, it would quickly have a network effect of going to just about everywhere. Seven orders of Kevin Bacon and all of that.

Which articles are right is the big question.

I have 3 ZeroTier networks set up. It works great. They do have a bridging function, but it might only be for the Windows client as I turned it on with a Linux machine, but it didn't do anything. If you are using a Linux box, you can just set up the static routes like normal and use it as a bridge that way.
@dafyre set up a php script and bash script for hosting your own controller. They both work really well.

Cool! Here's some other Fiber news.
      While not the impressive distance...
      http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/06/29/proximus_huawei_trial_terabit_fibre_speed/
single super-channel optical transport network (OTN) card with a transmission speed of a pretty hefty 1Tbps, running along Proximus' optical backbone.
      ...
The companies claim their approach increases the capacity on a fiber cable by compressing the gaps between transmission channels. "The technique increases the density of the transmission channels on fiber, making it around 150 per cent more efficient than today’s typical 100Gbps core network links," they said.

Now if they could combine them...

I started with an Amiga 500, then 2000 and settled on a 2500 for years...and I had one on a desk running up until 2007 or so. Now, I just fire up Amiga Forever for my Amiga fix but I still have a 500 in the attic and a TON of floppies. I have some word processing documents from college I'd LOVE to get off of there and archive.

Have a look at this one by softperfect.
It's portable but... I don't think that there is a report function.
      https://www.softperfect.com/products/networkscanner/

I swear by SoftPerfect's Scanner. You can save your scans and it can do a LOT - - to the point where you can load up custom OID's for SNMP scanning, alternate credentials for WMI scanning, configure right-click options on your scan results, etc. I use it all the time.

When we migrate our remote sites to new IP schemes, I use it to inventory the subnet, then I'll come back and scan again (you can import your prior scans and merge them). The SNMP integration is great. I am getting printer serial and model numbers - - otherwise, I would have to connect to each manually.

It's portable in that you can simply copy the folder to a USB drive and it will work, but I don't know if it's 'proper portable.'

      Great stuff.

It's been interesting using ScreenConnect. There are so many similarities to other types.

I found that SC does not work on a Chromebook. They have their own Chrome Remote software. which isn't difficult to use.

I would recommend it to anyone. Cost is an issue for me to use personally.
