As part of patient satisfaction I think we should have one. If we put it on it's own internet pipe the cost would be less than $100 a month, but we are moving soon to a new 100/20 pipe from a 10/10 pipe... so we'll have plenty of bandwidth, and with the limitations that creative mentions kinda makes it a non issue.

we have 100/100mb pipes. But if you give a mouse a cookie... that bandwidth can be used up in no time if you let it be.

I clearly had a problem with my repos file. I deleted it and recreated it using a 'cat' method I found on another site and this time it worked fine.....

I should have just renamed my original file to compare them to see what I did wrong when manually making the file in vi.

While that totally makes sense - it just seems odd, especially when compared against the Vista story (clearly the writers of the IP stack didn't learn enough from the old).

Anyone can get it wrong. But in the long run, dumping the XP code probably worked out. Just not right away.

Windows 10 pro and enterprise will still integrate with WSUS fine, We've already been using for windows 10 updates. You can use WUFB to extend WSUS functionality.

OK more digging this morning and I found this.

      http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cbowen/archive/2015/05/12/internet-explorer-9-pinned-site-shortcuts-vs-internet-shortcuts.aspx

Basically starting with IE 9, MS introduced Pinned websites vs Internet Shortcuts.

To create the classic internet shortcut, hold down the shift key while dragging the icon to the left of the URL out of IE to the desktop when creating a shortcut.

There has been talk about using a chat function at my office in the past, but in the same breath it was mentioned how catty all the women there (by the boss, who is a woman) and pretty much dismissed.

Furthermore, our EHR recently enabled global chat as well, so we'd probably use that instead.

Pfsense doesn't do well performance wise virtalized. At least it didn't used to. I think they have a pay for version optimized for VM platforms.

It's just FreeBSD plus drivers, right? It should do as well as FreeBSD does on whatever platform is in question. That FreeBSD doesn't have PV support for Xen is a major drawback to FreeBSD as a platform in general. But it should only be a question of drivers, in general.

I also noticed if I used the *78 to activate DND/*79 to deactivate DND, I can't reverse DND from the soft button because the phone assumes it's already in the desired state. I can activate (on) DND, then turn around and deactivate it.

Just something to keep in mind, in case anyone was wondering.

FOP2 names in FreePBX don't match what is shown on the buttons

I am not sure if you want to change to last names honestly. Remember that the name you put on the extension would affect the dial by name company directory (if you have that setup) for the PBX.

A receptionist / FOP2 user should be able to start typing someone's name in the filter at the top of the FOP2 console and see their extension pretty quickly after doing that. That should work whether they see the entire name of the person on the actual extension button (as long as the full name is the name on the extension in FreePBX). The full name should show when you hover over the extension button.

And, there is a FOP2 buttons area where you can override what is shown on the buttons in FOP2 (or there has been this option in previous versions). I'm just not sure if making a manual edit is worth it or if the synchronization will break for those extensions.

yeah - in retrospect that was dumb. Someone has to be the champion of a project otherwise it will get no legs.

Right, it feels like even the creator didn't believe in it.

Thanks - I only used it because I've seen it used other places.

Might be used some places I haven't seen. But in case someone is searching, they would search on FreePBX, not FPBX, I assume. Just in case others are looking for information later.

I can just picture someone saying "I can't get FPBX to work with my OBFN using a VM on ESXi running on OBR10 local disk." And it makes me chuckle a little.

I thought I read some where that Microsoft is making the jump from 6.4 to 10, which will be the first time the os and kernel match. I could be wrong though.

Linux did a renumbering too, recently, to make the number more marketable. But 3.0 is actually part of the 2.6 family. At best you could consider it 2.8. Microsoft may do the same thing, switch from a meaningful numbering to a marketing number. But the new kernel is remaining part of the Vista kernel family.
