SQRL

Steve Gibson is claiming to be almost finished with SQRL (Secure Quick Reliable Logon) http://www.grc.com/sqrl.
He's written code for use on IIS, others have written it for the iPhone/iPad and another for Android.
I'm hoping we can see it here at ML soon after it's release.

Please tell me this acronym will be pronounced "squirrel"!

Most definitely!

It even says so on the web site.
This is actually quite the interesting authentication mechanism... Almost like SSH Keys, but with a twist.

While the topic definitely covers SQRL, the OP was LogMeIn's own solution.

Yes - and it's complete - but now that requires that people deploy it.

not really complete. They claimed long, long ago that they were making it for multiple operating systems. But they never go around to doing so. It's only Windows and only from a questionable source. Firefox add on is abandoned. Google plugin is gone. It went from limited to "more limited" over the years. They never got to the kick off stage, it was, at best, a tech preview if even that.
I'd call it "solidly started", it wasn't even remotely complete.

@scottalanmiller It was never the creators intent to make versions for something other than Windows Server. He published the spec and expected others to pick it up and run with it.
yeah - in retrospect that was dumb. Someone has to be the champion of a project otherwise it will get no legs.
And with no champion, well, clearly it's just withered...

LOL, yeah, that died on the vine. Nothing seems to have ever been made.

And with no champion, well, clearly it's just withered...Right, it feels like even the creator didn't believe in it.
