I am still not sold on the UniFi line as a complete line.

The switch and AP lines are fine, but the USG router is just too limited.

I'm in Italy on a connection that goes down every 30 minutes because of a dead router. No way for me to have useful input to the latency of the US hosted system.

lol I was thinking the same - most can probably afford to just keep this on the shelf in case of an issue.

Expensive, but looks like some really great hardware. I could definitely get by with a less expensive model.

I found traditional Unix hierarchy more confortable for interactive shell use, Mac os X is a pain with all that capital letters. Seems like a tribute to the "case seinsitive".

Yeah, this is unnecessarily complicated.

To further muddy the waters, on a default install of OS X (10.11 in my case), things are not case sensitive. However, you can set that option if you partition the drives yourself.

Well yeah, OSX is just ridiculous.

I came very close to getting a job at ABC but they wanted Mac experience (Guru was the word they used). The guy who got the job lied through his teeth (my friends works there and explained it to me). Being an honest person is hard sometimes.

Who was dishonest? The guy or the company that happily hired someone without experience?

They had no one with Mac experience to really test the guy properly but he knew his stuff generally. Then it came time for him to do something really simple (i honestly forget what its been a while) and he didn't know how to. 😞

And they kept him on even though he lied? If so, then they did too.

This looks interesting. I see more potential benefits from this in areas with low bandwidth and mobile devices.

Raspian doesn't really do much for me, I suppose I need to find a decent use for these and then I'd use em.

But otherwise they're really low cost computers with an odd use case.

Debian and Ubuntu, I believe, are already set on this board.

The argument here has been should a law which has been around 'forever' and not designed to effect services outside of a local region, still effect the user / supplier of services.

And I kind of agree, update your laws. Do the job you're there for. You (congress and company) are there to develop fair laws that protect and serve the country (and our neighbors) equally. Which means you need to draft laws which can be updated with technology. Granted there is going to be backlash on it, but that is why you were hired.

To sort it out, and find a good solution.
