Lol, sure... But if a graphics design person can't work out this situation, they probably belong on another line of work. Considering the OP. 😉

Cool. We're going on an online, non-live training course. It's still been really cool. Not quite as much hands on type stuff as I'd like.

I'll have to find out how much the test is by itself, it would seem.

I think it is $500 or $600 and you have to send in documentation proving your security background.

Wow. Sounds...interesting, considering I don't really have any official security background. It was all "other duties as necessary" at my last job, lol.

It's a hobby device. NextCoud said so themselves. Not meant for business use. Just for fun.

Yeah, certainly not a business device, it isn't powerful enough for that. It is meant for home users.

And yes, it is designed to not require maintenance. That is, the OS automatically updates, as does Nextcloud itself. I think that at the moment, you'll have to re-enable apps, that is the only thing. We're working on making that work automatically too. Help is obviously welcome.

Oh OK this just got a lot more interesting. I personally feel that anything that goes to a consumer needs to handle 99.9% of maintenance tasks completely on its own. If it doesn't then most of us know that in a consumer environment it will never happen, and we end up with IOT devices helping to cause 1 TB DDOS attacks.

So I found a quirk, not sure if it's an actual bug. For incremental backups to work you have to use the NFS syntax (BACKUP_URL="nfs://<server>"). If you mount the share, and then write to the local mount it won't do incremental.

I find this happens most often to my users when they are trying to reconnect to a RemoteApp that they had left open and got disconnected from. I've seen it happen to Word & Excel, as well as a number of internal applications that we use here.

Unfortunately, like you, I usually have to log in to the server and boot them off.... I usually just keep an RDS session open to that server and leave a script running to make it easier for me to kill a user's hung session.

    https://gitlab.wellston.biz/dafyre/powershell-scripts

autoUserSessionDetails.ps1 Should help you with that. If your machine is AD joined, you can run it from your own machine, but I still recommend running it from the Connection Broker.

I had a freezing issue where the system would just stop responding for like 30 seconds at a time. It wasn't the well-documented one because I have a single partition for the OS and data. There was also another issue with the way that it was handling multiple networks being connected. After reverting, it worked fine. I tried installing it several weeks later with all patches and it seems good to go for now.

Awww, I did hear about that issue, just never saw it. All of my systems have the extra partitions as part of install.

    Stupid me...but weird.

Nah... Dumm Mikersoft for freaking out plugs that want to help us improve our privacy, lol.

LOL - really? I consider this more likely a problem with privacy badger being overzealous in their blocking.

Just like how we didn't used to see locally hosted ads on ML because the file names had the size in them.

Oh @Minion-Queen I see the ads now 🙂

Yeah, Idk why I didn't think of PB as default...it seems a growing number of websites don't work nicely with it...uplay is another one I found out the other day...

got it working. I did the burflags thing. On the server throwing the 13508, I backed up sysvol, stopped ntfrs and changed the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters\Backup/Restore\Process at Startup\BurFlags to D4 , started ntfrs, and then went to the other two domain controllers.
On them I stopped ntfrs and changed:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters\Backup/Restore\Process at Startup\BurFlags to D2
    and started ntfrs.

after a few minutes the logs were clean. I logged in to a workstation and group policy didn't throw any errors.

This alone means that the CEO should be doing everything in their power to do things fiscally responsible, and not waste money. Though it's not a legal mandate like it is in public companies,....

That's why lots of people chose the non-profit world. It's the easiest path to pocketing charity contributions. You can take home so much more money than you can in the for-profit world without having to be good at your job, just not bound by the moral obligations of normal society. Non-profits are built almost totally around moving money inappropriately. And the ease of overpaying vendors and getting kickbacks is so high that it is hard to resist.

And it is all empowered by the general assumption that non-profit management is inept and illogical - this socially accepted failure to do their jobs becomes the means by which taking the charity contributions home gets hidden.
