I have a ticket for next years Spiceworld, so I hope this years ain't the last. Also hoping Scale do the boat cruise again next year too.

SW 2017 is already booked, I can't imagine that there will be any issues with it happening now. And the boat cruise isn't scheduled but is so popular and such a success that I can't imagine it not happening.

If the EXE has a silent installer flag I would run it as a startup or login task the first time. Just add a check in there to see if it has already been installed.

Meant to say I would put it on a share and have a startup script execute it with the silent flag. Drop a installcomplete.txt file somewhere on the local disk and query for that at startup.

Well, my comment was based on what the developers were telling me back then. Specifically, the way the websites (IIS & .NET) and databases (MS SQL) handle individual user "sessions". I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but it was more effort and development time than what the company was willing to invest in at that point in time.

Oh, the developers screwed up and made a bad application that can't scare properly and then got stuck because scaling and transparent updates are done in the same way. Got it.

But for WordPress, it "just works."

More like, it was an older product that was built up over many, many years, and the products were being phased out anyway, and being replaced by a newer product that would scale properly. I left before said product came to market though.

I have no complaints about Wordpress nowadays. Very simple to setup and use. Really a great tool for all user levels.

As far as maintaining a number because they are all Iphones people can still reach me at my main number it just rings through to the Tmobile phone. The nice part of an ITunes account. I actually have 3 IPhones. One for GS one for NTG (my main number) and one for traveling.

While the convention center at Denver Comic Con does provide WiFi, it's so saturated that it's useless. Hell, during Dragon Con, even outside on the street it's nearly impossible to make a phone call or a SMS message with the 90K people in a 4 block area. I'm guessing the phone companies could fix this (how else do you service football stadiums with 140K people?)

I think I recall it's around $150-200/license for IP licenses - I'm not sure they have an actual SIP license. The phones don't talk SIP to the phone switch, they talk propitiatory Mitel by default.

I would build a new 2012 R2 DC, then transfer all roles then demote your old DC. I would just keep sharepoint on the old DC and call it a day.

We already have 5 other DC's. This last DC that I wanted to demote and remove cert services from is the last DC left in the original forest/domain that the admin before me built. I'm pretty much going to have to spend the next several weeks learning how to setup Sharepoint and migrate our existing server/data to a new member server. And trust me, I know it's stupid to run all that stuff on a DC, but I didn't set it up :-S

Wow, just wow. How old is this kid?

So hit a roadblock about code deploy. This was taken considering we update the files. Later realized that we might have user generated content/content added by admin via the Drupal CMS backened. In that case those files for example images will be saved on the one particular EC2 and during a scale down the instance could go down, or may not be available in the newly booted up instance.

Luckily Amazon have another service called Elastic File System used for such cases! I now moved the sites folder of drupal to EFS.

So basic Drupal core files on the EC2 AMI image i created, plus sites folder on EFS, with auto enabling that on each loaded instance by adding the below script:

I agree probably a NIC issue. I'd do a TCP stack reset. Of course that will knock it offline, so after-hours.

NIC on the virtual host since the file server is on a VM? Not everyone is locking up...but tends to be the same 4-5 people...can't imagine that many NIC's causing it and I've yet to duplicate it on my machine, WHEN I have the time...
