    Just an overlook: https://aws.amazon.com/it/blogs/aws/glacier-vault-lock/ .

It should be cheaper than tapes or HDD for that range of data.

What does the Admin > System Admin > Time Zone setting affect? Should it affect the actual system clock of the server?

    Here's my scenario:

During FreePBX Install (the OS part), do not set the time zone, which defaults to UTC. After the install, reboot, log into the FreePBX GUI. During the initial setup, you're prompted to confirm a time zone. At this time I specify EST. Reports > Asterisk Logfiles show logs in UTC (which makes sense, since from the OS perspective the time zone is UTC). Envelopes for voice mails are also in UTC.

There is a setting for this, but I cannot find it right now.

@bigbear said in Trying the FreePBX 13 to 14 Upgrade:

I gave the UCP a try, there was no default layout or apps. Kind of a miss there because by comparison it is maybe its stronger using-facing benefit.

@jaredbusch said in Trying the FreePBX 13 to 14 Upgrade:

That is what I am seeing and wondering WTF.

We have plans to add customization by Administrators from within User Manager. We will also note to add default layouts in there as well.

The tutorial walks you through most of this however.

    More to come in time.

Yeah, a default layout would be awesome. The tutorial is good. I went through it yesterday.

@dashrender Logically, I shouldn't make that assumption. The assumption is based on a gut feeling fueled by some experience.

I gotcha - if I'm a contractor, and that's not a spelled out benefit, and it's clear that the benefit is being removed because I'm no longer using my own phone, I'd be rather unhappy at the pay cut.

@fateknollogee I mean that's depending on your deployment, it's included with 2016 Datacenter....

So is Storage Replica and whole bunch of things you aren't going to use if you aren't within hyperconverged setup. VMware with a separate SKU for VSAN got a better idea. ImHO.

I have seen this work like this for a long while. But it can be weird because I've seen it fail too. If the client in question don't present some time of machine/domain name automatically, I think the domain auth will just assume the domain that's being authenticated against and if an account matches it tries the password.. but, if the client does pass along machine/domain type info, of course it fails if it doesn't match.

    Hello All,

I would like to get the suggestion on SQL backup Solution. Currently our environment is have two node SQL cluster with around 16 TB of Data. We are using Rapid Recovery as the Backup solution. We have upgraded our Windows Cluster to 2012 with Clustered Share Volume and the SQL Cluster to 2014.

Now we are facing issue with Rapid Recovery as its not able to understand the clustered share volume and we are not able to take the backup of our SQL storage on Block level. As per Rapid Recovery, they are not sure when they will release a version which support CSV.

We are in a situation to look into another SQL backup Solutions. Currently I am testing the Unitrends backup Virtual appliance and Its is good in backup, but I am having some issues on the retention polices as they provide only minimal policy which is on the SQL instance level.

Kindly suggest me a good backup solution for the SQL database which is having application native backup agent or CSV support , rather than block level backup. Also with the backup policy and retention policy of

Backup : - Daily Incremental and Monthly Full backup
Retention : - 2 Week incremental and Last month Full backup.

    Backup : Every 6 Month
    Retention : Last 6th Month

    Backup : Every Year
    Retention : Last 2 year.

If this can be achieved in Unitrends please share the details.

    Thanks in Advance.

@scottalanmiller That is the position i want to take.

What would i need to do to get all the existing MW data and put it in a newer MW server? Just tar up the data folder and untar in new MW server? That seems too easy.

You'll want to export and import. But yeah, that's about it. MW is not complicated in any specific way. I do this with WP all the time. It's really that easy.

I just finished home lab setup with Apache + Centos + WebDAV
    On 1 machine
that is connected to 2 other glusterfs peers working in replication mode.

It felt good when everything worked as expected. and I can connect via WinSCP, and it recognizes passwords for users created by Bcrypt which I reckon uses Blowfish and over HTTPS which makes it very secure.

umm.. its lame abit that each folder/share you will need to define in it apache webdav.conf, but if you want to implement something manually that is the price you pay.

Other than that it is all good, you can create personal shares like HR , and other Public ones. And replication does occur by the underlying glusterfs.

Also. I broke down and clicked on this one.

The lead in music was significantly louder than the audio after the lead in. that is bad.

That's been since addressed. Actually both things have. The videos from today (not posted yet) are with a still camera and audio tweaking. My dad does the final edits, and he added the intro music. So hopefully those two things are taken care of in about two videos from now.

    Hello there,

Just wondering to know what Network monitoring software you are using ?

I am looking for one, I just need a simple to setup and simple things to monitor like Up or Not ? with PING sensor or other, which checks the devices for every 5 minutes and alarm somehow. Of course free one 🙂

We have lots of Windows PCs, HP N/W Printers, IP Tel Server, Network devices (AP, router, switches etc.), Servers etc. to be Monitored.

    Thanks !

Hi there, I work on the project sodium and while we don't have absolutely everything that you are looking for we are close and we are still early on and implementing new features/modules very regularly. The project is in early alpha so it does look rough, that being said it does work. We don't have absolutely everything you want yet but a good portion of it is in play already and that which isn't is already on our to do list.

    A. We are free.
    B. We do data collection every 5 minutes and show last check in via collection.
    C. We gather information about what applications are installed, storage is available (and much more) with the intent of implementing alarms eventually.

Note: network devices are on the list but will be down the road a little bit.

If you are interested I'll be happy to talk to you further, just shoot me a message.

Definitely I want to explore it.

By the way, I am seeing some Sodium Help desk things and threads related to it here in ML, and tried to google but couldn't find any information about Sodium, where's the location (website) ?

    sodium.waxquixotic.com

The reason we aren't pushing that hard as of yet is simply due to the fact that it is in alpha. Once we hit a point where all the features are lined up and we've put a little effort into cleaning up the visual side I'm sure that we will put more effort into making it more publicly visible. (We also are planning on changing the name for SEO purposes)

    Okay.

I was trying to browse the site to have look on features etc. but it requires to login/register ?

It's in alpha, there is no advertising page. Just the site to actually start using it.
