Solved Cant get Zoiper to register user on FreePBX
-
Try to be gentle, cause I am learning this only recently.
So I installed FreePBX on VM at my home just for learning and fun, configured a user account and was able to access the user dashboard using UCP
Using Zoiper --> Accounts --> IAX
I tried
host = VM IP and VM IP:4569
user and pass same as in UCPand it keeps telling at registeration failed (Registeration refusted (29))
And i tried to disable firewall in FreePBX
I tried binding address + ports in IAX setting
I tried adding local interface to trusted
I tried adding advanced setting entry called "host=dynamic"
I tried quick creation of extension for IAX2but still stuck, what should I do next ?

I'm not at my computer at the moment, and I can't visualize the account registration screen. From what I remember when I've played with Zoiper, when you register an extension, you don't use the UCP credentials. You'll use the extension number and it's secret. For the SIP domain, just enter the IP of your FreePBX VM or FQDN if you have a DNS record for it.

ohhh.... I see, let me try that

Also, I don't remember seeing anything about IAX. You should just have an option to register a SIP account.

Yes. Think of extensions as end points. It's possible for a user to use multiple end points.

Yes,.. if you have more that one person that needs to answer a call - that would be a ring group. Add the extensions to the ring group, it will ring all the users, first one to answer gets it.

Thanks for both answers I was able to make successful calls between 2 mobiles.
