TWC wrote the text book on how not to do customer service. They are by far one of the worst companies I have ever HAD to do business with. If you currently have service with Charter you have my condolences.

Hopefully it will get better since Charter is purchasing Time-Warner. Although... why improve something they will have an even bigger monopoly on.

Differing opinions there. My opinion is... if you want very reliable email, you pay for it. Those services get that money for a reason, they really work. But you can put in the effort yourself and run your own for sure. It's a little risky... whether that means risk of delivery failure or risk of extra effort, you can mostly balance that yourself.

Good to know. I'm planning on starting this later this week. If I can get this working, I'm going to replace a PFSense firewall with an ERX or lite. Right now, this is the only thing that I dont have setup for ERX yet.

No, I was looking to set it up as a server so I can remote in via the OpenVPN client. Basically, secure access to my home network when I need it. Right now, my experience with Open VPN is limited to the package available for PFSense. I'd like to do the same on my ERX.

I have that setup also. both as a certificate based and as a password based. at different sites. I really need to make new documentation anyway.

You would be hailed as "the man" if you produce that content and share it. 🙂

Any update on this new guide? I'm getting ready to replace a PFSense router with an ERX and the only thing holding me back is a working OpenVPN solution for the ERX.

I've been working on IPSEC VPN issues that are client affecting and have not had time to revisit the OpenVPN process.

@JaredBusch how did you setup your NIC for the workstation that had to remote into the AD via ZeroTier? I'm still trying to figure out exactly what was statically assigned as your post wasn't too clear for me (this is new to me).

If you want to enable PHP 7 you need to edit a different repo file to find the remi-php70 repo to enable.

nano /etc/yum.repos.d/remi-php70.repo

@JaredBusch yeah, but the warning about the internet connection still has the old wording, that one - the discussion isn't finished, it seems.

Not sure what the fedora/RH thing shows or what is/isn't wrong. We did drop support for Fedora but the owncloud-files.noarch package should work almost everywhere and on any version of RH/Fedora/CentOS/etc

In case anyone else runs across this same issue, I got this resolved with a simple command:

dracut --regenerate-all -f && grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

After doing this, everything booted up properly.

I then installed hyperv-daemons, rebooted, and everything works great.
