@coliver We're using Yealink phones. I'll take a look into it. Thanks!

I'm thinking the hardest part will be setting up the VPN on the PBX side.

    This is rather frustrating.

User Account setup completes normally, but when you open Outlook it asks for a password repeatedly. When you hit cancel you get this 'error'..

I found another KB which didn't do any better either.

Yeah we enjoyed the response - certainly better than the previous one which was 7 months after a big layoff and got a lot of disgruntled ex-employees trolling it 🙂 Thanks for all your help AJ!

No problem @Nic ! Happy to help!

Ok, so is it a new router with the same IP or just the elimination of the extra mess?

Same router. Just extra routers removed.

    Ok.

No. They will fall for it because they clicked on a get this app free link.

General end users have no clue that one system is more secure than another. That only comes in to play in the more technical circles.

    Very true.

This is how Dell specifically ships PCs.

    Good to know...never knew this...

Yeah. Don't worry about those PCs because you can easily prove they are licensed. Microsoft isn't going to challenge an OEM license on a Dell box anyways.

    Thanks guys...you all are invaluable...

I like hangouts, but i think its way too complicated for non-techy users. Hangouts really doesn't like texting phone contacts. It almost forces you to convert everyone to Google Contacts. Also if you have Google Voice, it will randomly text some people with your Google Voice number . It took me awhile to figure out that I was texting people from Google Voice instead of my carrier number. I found that in settings it tries to reply with the last number you used.

Overall its better than any texting app I have used, but its a real pain in the ass to configure and nothing is really explained.

Yeah, I guess I can see that. What's weird is how Airdroid and Hangouts works...Airdroid will only show you messages sent and received to/from your carrier's number. But in Hangouts, it aggregates your Google chat, carrier, and Google Voice messsages all into one stream. Kind of annoying tbh...that it doesn't show everything in Airdroid like it does in Hangouts...

I checked with a fellow IT'er and Engineer and he doesn't know if a Desktop that has a Cellular option. So anything you 'add' with be 3rd party.

Some good books are a great way to start. Build some connected, foundational knowledge together. Way better than Googling stuff for getting the basics down. Helps to not miss things that don't come up as "problems."

And I have to assume the version of Windows running on it is RT, and we still don't know if MS is going to be making Windows 10 for ARM.

It's dual processors, obviously. They two OSes run at the same time and one runs in a way that can be disconnected. All of the devices like this are dual procs. That's what makes them work. ARM for Android because it needs to be low power and AMD64 for Windows because it doesn't run on ARM.

RT would be completely useless as, it just is. Android can run on AMD64 but not at the same time that Windows is.

And the exact problem I am having is that the Dynamics NAV SQL Server and the RDS server when both put on Pertino were routing all traffic over Pertino instead of locally. I took the SQL server out of the network (made its own network) and everything started working again.

What Pertino is waiting on me for is some packet captures that I have not had time to create.

Because I seen odd behavior of LAN devices without Pertino also having problems access SQL. Those devices have the NAV client locally installed.

Same reason that large companies create employee IDs that are unique and don't mean anything. Just no way to have the users' names be the ID no matter how to mash it up. There just has to be an ID field that is unique and separate from other data.
