I have had the 3M-50 for almost 4 years, which is pretty rudimentary in terms of features. It does, however, have a plugin for my vera lite, so I do like that. It uses the Radio Thermostat servers while you are not on your WiFi/network and there is a polling interval of 5 minutes, so there is a delay of up to 5 minutes in terms of interaction with it. They have a nice android app interface and widgets to add to your home screen. I would say my only real problem with it is that it is a little temperamental when detecting if you are on your WiFi network. Sometimes it takes several refreshes on the app to get it to detect. Sometimes, I have to close the app and reload.

That being said, I am looking at the Ecobee 3 with a couple of sensors. I did read about some issues with the thermostat generating too much heat and causing the thermostat's reported temp to be much higher than the ambient temp actually was. I don't know if that was resolved or limited to a specific batch.

I looked at the Nest and decided it wasn't for me. The adaptive schedule thing isn't that big of a deal for me. Also, at that time, the swing temp was either not adjustable or was not adjustable below ~2 degrees F. I like to roll with a .5 degree F swing temp so the thing turns on and off when it hits the temp I set.

A coworker just got the Sensi from Emerson and he likes it. It seems cool from what I can tell. It also has dual schedules, which is nice if you are like me and have a need for 2 schedules. Other than that, I don't know much else about it.

I resinstalled and added the sa account this time. (I don't know if the user installed it the first time.) I did a named instance, so when I logged in I had to choose .\sqlexpress as the server. Once I did that I was able to just right click databases -> restore and select the files I had copied to the back up folder from the old server. Then it worked like it should.

Yeah - Word and Excel are awesome this way - but I don't know of a way to do that with IE or Chrome.

@DustinB3403 my docs won't open notepad to paste then re-copy and paste again. This solves this problem in one key combo.

KioWare is a competitor to sitekiosk, so you may want to try that as an alternative. That being said, if you reach out to sitekiosk, they may have a fix/solution for the problem you are running into.

Very solid write up. I only skimmed it, but it answered some questions I had.

NY State Fair had free wifi this year, I'm not sure the model but it was a cisco AP mounted every 400' or so on a tower

Users per AP is also a consideration in this scenario, but not really something anyone cares about for a warehouse or typical office deployment.

You may want to talk to someone at a reseller like Misco or Softcat that's a specialist as Microsoft licensing can be tricky.

Maybe that is a little simplistic for my neophyte VBA mind...

The simpler you can make it, the better off everybody will be, lol.

I still have a lot to learn, no time to learn it and still be Mr. Jack of All Trades SOLO IT Guy...I've literally poked at this code all week in between day to day and not a lot to show but perhaps closer to the solution.

Hopefully you'll get it! Keep poking at it... just don't miss and accidentally poke the bear with a stick!

They can come to your door with lawyers if they actually think youre 'stealing' imaginary property. But they need permission from a court to do so. And you dont have to do anything for them, at all, ever, without this order. At least in the US that is.

Actually they already have permission when you agree to the EULAs.

That's what gets you. Run any of their products and you've already agreed to bypassing the court needs. Only time that the court is required is if you are not running any BSA covered products - and basically everyone is.

I was looking at it more. It would seem he (my alum) works with\for Microsoft. I wasn't sure which part of the team he was on. I was just looking at placing a Kali build in a cloud instance then I saw this.

Vultr would work too, and be cheaper.

I'm don't use Azure or Vultr(tho I did take look at the latter the other day). I have systems running with profit bricks. I'm working on migrating more of my servers to Linux based systems.

Test out Vultr, it's cheap and good.
Thank you. I will take a deeper dive, I looked from the surface.

So... I went through and ran the script and it seems to have worked fine... What next?

Edit: To collect logs from the local server, I also had to install filebeat on this server. So I reckon I can now go and install it on all my other systems as well.

Yes, install Filebeat and point it to ELK. Check my Filebeat article for more info.

Didn't realize you had one. 8-) But I'm good now. Logs are collecting as we speak. Bonus: Fail2Ban and Apache logs also work great in ELK.
