i do this all the time on Windows 10, except I include the /source:location of files since it's not on my WSUS system.

And, of course, a huge question is... do you expect to load balance the environment, or each site? A lot of big hosts have each host running on a single node only. So you don't actually load balance the big layers but rather have stacks for them, which is very different. Load balancing would be more common with a single high performance site, rather than a web hoster.

Yeah, supporting the SMB's is the killer.

I think perhaps a better plan for SMBs would be, here's the product, some charge - say $500 (pulling a number out of my rear) and with that you get 4 hours of support. Then you can buy support in blocks after that.

The hard thing, you're going up against the likes of Veeam, and because of their size, they don't have to limit it like this.

This would be interesting. I have 3 zones for heat in my house and I never know what to set for the best efficiency.

Ex: the bedroom zone is set to 58, but the thermostat is in a room with a closed door. If I leave it closed, it makes the bedroom where I am nice and toasty...sometimes too toasty. If I simply open the door, it is getting the heat from the living room zone, and cools down the bedroom where I am. I worry that I am using too much oil if I leave the door open.

Saving $$$ on the oil is an issue...especially where I am. It got down to 3 degrees last night and was at 0 on Friday. Normal lows in January is 12, but it's been pretty cold this month so who knows how cold it will get!

@stacksofplates Per Alienvault 12/2016, it does not do rogue device detection and alerting. Yet, anyway seeing it is a major flaw in it being a USM.

I agree and that's where I think internal IT wins. MSPs tend to be very good at IT, but lack the business understanding, because they don't work in the business, they work in IT. Good internal IT staff have both IT and business expertise.

Depends on the MSP If it's one that specializes in a given field (Say Education) they might know how other companies in the same vertical solve a problem.

And value to tackling things from other fields, too. So often you see companies that have the "our industry is special and has special needs" like video processing. But if someone from another field looks at it without that attitude they realize that their needs are very basic, simple and standard.

It's far easier to avoid the "house of cards" motivation problems with an MSP than with internal staff.

One thing I'll say about HP is that historically they have purchased the right to manufacture Canon's engines. It's a fun little fact that a lot of people I've met don't know

One point of note here @scottalanmiller PBX in a Flash existed a long time before FreePBX was a distro of its own. But yes, once FreePBX existed as a distro, there was never any other reason to do anything else.

That's not how it's supposed to be, it's just what most people end up actually doing. The big conglomerates actually get their sales pitches certified as continued training time for the docs.

Thing is, they do think themselves as something more than drug pushers. The entire system is so screwy now that they end up thinking pushing drugs is the best possible solution almost all the time.

That's what they tell you. I find it impossibly insulting of their intelligence to suggest that in private it's not what they think of themselves.

Could be. The OB I worked with was horrified by the entire system, so I probably picked up a very cynical view of things.

If the call might actually be recorded, heck yeah. There might be cases where they do not need to do that, but it is very unlikely that that employee could know when those cases might come up because it is the physical location of the other party, not the number that they call or where they are based or what their activity is, that matters legally. They could easily be violating federal, state or even international laws.
