@johann said in MS Office 2016 best books?:

I guess I should be good to go then because the current book I'm using now is listed on the MSPress site:
      https://www.microsoftpressstore.com/store/microsoft-word-2016-step-by-step-9780735697775

      Thank you.

Step by Step is a great place to get started, but is really meant for newcomers to the products. Great if you are, but if you are looking for MOUS level stuff, it'll be pretty lean.

      Nope still the same.
You need to send a CTRL+ALT+DEL from the menu on the agents side,
      0_1513685762206_connectwise.png
Type in your admin stuff click ok then the client is asked to allow it, once that's done you can see all future UAC stuff.

I would suggest a PWA. A Progressive Web App.

These are generally considered cross platform, though I’m sure there will be some platform specific options.

If you’re thinking Windows only, definitely stick to a UWP so it can run in Windows 10S (limited to MS store only apps)

      Definitely not that simple.

Why not expand upon that for the OP?

I did in a second thread that he created. And the bottom line is, we have to know WHAT he wants to build before we can answer anything usefully. Popular is totally useless in this context. We don't even know what is an option here.

If your goal is to write one, there is a really good chance that you'd want neither. But either might make sense. But it is not that simple.

And popular is not a good test, because that just tells you what devs have experience with. .NET apps are the most popular, but least appropriate in general.

Deciding on the kind of app always comes down to what you are writing and what you want to do with it. No amount of other resources will tell you which is appropriate.

Because you have to assume that they are going to just work for an hour, and deal with continuous billing as you go, it creates a lot of overhead and friction and you have to bill with the assumption that you are context switching on and off. It costs more to provide, it costs more to consume.

If you've paid for a block of hours ,and we are in within my scope for a project on the blocks you bought to deliver (with no weird issues) I have ZERO worries about the bill being disputed.

If your a customer who bills by the 15 minutes and disputes by the 15 minutes get ready for me to OVER document to make sure the bill will stick.

And then customers getting billed for insane amounts of time spent making documentation!

You may have an existing settings file (like a .vmx) which you can convert into ovf format using VMware's tool 'ovftool':http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/vsphere/automationtools/ovf
There's quite a lot of options, which are detailed here in the user guide:http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/ovf/ovf20/ovftool_201_userguide.pdf

If thats not a viable option, You can download the OVF Import/Export tool from the Microsoft Download Center. The OVF Import/Export tool is distributed as a Windows Installer package. You must install the tool on an existing VMM management server that has the VMM console installed.

      Why not just use OpenStack?

I didnt know it had this functionality, I thought it was like vCenter.

Do you have screenshots on how the clients see the panel ?
do you know easy guide to set it up with KVM centos 7 ?
      Does it support billing ?

Created a demo user. You get whatever resources are assigned to that user/group.

      0_1513458428144_os.png

This is an all-in-one setup for a home lab. If you do this the right way you probably won't be managing it yourself. It uses KVM on CentOS (or Xen is possible on other platforms).

There is no billing directly through OpenStack, but it provides the info for that. Usage is tracked for all projects. You can set up billing through something like Cloudforms (ManageIQ). It doesn't look like Vmango does anything related to billing at all.

However, to be frank, are you really going to be charging customers to run a VPS on a single host?

If anyone is curious as to why these libraries are not in the native Fedora repository, it is due to licensing.

      https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Forbidden_items

well, I'd be more curious as to why they aren't included with FF. But as you already told me privately, it's a conflict of license types.

Yep, just because two different pieces of software are both open source, doesn't mean the licenses work together.
