Ideally, if your planning on going down the VTL route, it would be great if you were to look into the direction of StarWind. They have recently presented their solution at the VeeamOn conference, after swinging by their stand, I've come to find out that its a pretty viable solution for the creation and storage of backups as tapes on S3 or Azure.

RE: Downloading and installing Starwind VSAN v8 on Hyper-V Server 2016 via powershellposted in IT Discussion
Since i've previously attempted on testing the VTL to Cloud Replicator, I would like to mention that there can be a possible error in the process. Just so noone rings the alarm beforehand, it's quite simple to overcome the "Setup failed to install Microsoft .NET Core. Error 3010" by either rebooting the node, or installing the .NET core before installing StarWind.
After getting in touch with them, I was actually surprised that they were kind enough to take that into account in one of their future releases and mention to have that fixed.

Well, if the backups were stored off-site, a single days worth of data could have been the only loss there, which is the exact schedule they should be made for a service provider of their scale.

@scottalanmiller I am terribly sorry for that double post. In fact, I was checking two threads (this one and https://mangolassi.it/topic/16439/xosan-with-xo-community-edition) in two different tabs of my web browser, and here something went wrong, if I can say so... I will amend that post above not to mislead anyone.

RE: EMC VXRailposted in IT Discussion
@coliver said in EMC VXRail:
It's too complex without additional networking infrastructure. They have a 3-node system and appliances available. I'm sure @KOOLER can comment.
From the previous implementation i recon that they offer an option of 3-way replication between all of the hosts, or the configuration of 2-way mirrors between each of the participants.
Since they are all daisy-chained no additional networking is required in either 2 or 3 node configurations.

For the analysts of the current utilization of your hosts, best bet would be running a LiveOptics Collection toolkit. In result, the Report will present you with granular details as to the utilization of your CPU, RAM and storage.
After the run is complete, it would be highly beneficial to discuss your requirements to the future solution with the vendor of your choice. -

+1 to an auto response like Tim_G said. At least that would inform senders about the issue.

RE: LibreOffice 6 Has Releasedposted in News
They keep improving LibreOffice. I believe I need to give it another try. Earlier versions were not that comfortable for me, particularly 4.3, and now they seem to be better.
