We already are using powershell, albeit from the US to an overseas office.

We don't have an IT guy on site for the remote site, it's all Contract Support. I'm uncertain as to why it was fully deployed, rather than a core installation.

"Easier management of the server" was probably the response to the question.

Introverts were probably happier, they had good excuses to be isolated and removed from people. For extroverts, it was probably horrible for the same reasons.

I think it's the opposite. Pre-internet, when I used to go to training courses and seminars, during the coffee breaks there was nothing to do so everyone talked to each other. Even me, despite being introverted!

Now I go to them and everyone is glued to their phones in silence (or talking to the office). I hate it.

I suspect it isn't so bad in the US, as you're generally a much more friendly and confident bunch, but in the UK it's terrible. One of the main points of going on courses and seminars was to meet people. If I'm not doing that, I may as well stay in the office and join a webinar (webinars - another internet invention that has killed the art of meeting people).

I guess I didn't go to many of those in the pre-Internet phone era. Some, but never met people as everyone kept to themselves even then (think Office 2003 launch party, for example.)

Here's another question to piggyback off of that one: I know you can use VirtManager to manage Xen vm's but can you use XenCenter to manage Xen without XenServer?

Not unless you modify Xen to add the necessary APIs.

I don't think throughput matters nearly as much.

Capacity certainly does though. if you configured your logging off host though, the issue should be resolved.

@anonymous trying add the IP address to your monitoring.

I don't care if the server is up, I care if the site on the server is up. The site can easily be down while the server is still up.

Got it solved. I started pointing them at a new server (basically starting from scratch). Still got some inconsistencies but that was resolved by toggling the agent to the new server (after I already pointed it at it). Then I fixed the last couple with a disk allocation mod. What a mind-blowing, super frustrating piece of software.

@JaredBusch, exactly - adding the IP to the SPF record is what fixed your Wordpress site as well as the bulk email system (assuming they both look like they are coming from the same IP). No change the Postfix needed.

There is no SPF record for the domain on my WordPress site, you misread that.

ohh... you were talking about two different setups.. yup.. missed it.

Weird that you don't have your messages marked as spam.

Apparently a whole chunk of Amazon cloud stuff wasn't working over the weekend. Maybe that's still impacting things?

That would be my guess as well assuming the service in question is hosted within the US East region. Their status page says it's all good now, but I bet they still have some kinks to work out.

Well these are two conceptually different things. They aren't related. Technology has to do with things that people invent or create. Agriculture with the growing of food crops. They are not opposites, not the same thing, not really related or un-related.

I don't think that is always so. Yes Agriculture is growing of foods, but there is a process and bit of design to optimize the process.

Case in point - Look at AquaPonics. While it has been around for over a thousand years, it's only in the last dozen years that it has turn around and been turned 'high tech'

While working for an auto manufacturor a few years ago, I looked at how to increase the efficiency of aquaponics... I spent a good bit of time doing research and theorizing how to optimize the process.

Between notes and such it was a 2 foot thick stack of papers that I culmenated over a few month/ years.

But that doesn't change that technology is one kind of thing and agriculture is another. Technology applies to all things equally. There is simply no direct or indirect relationship between these two things. They are conceptually different types of concepts.

You can talk about technology in the context of agriculture. But that is different than talking about the opposing forcing of agriculture and technology - that is a conceptual mismatch.

For example, you can paint a car blue, but transportation and color and two different concepts. You don't talk about the "relationship of transportation and color".
