Right. That is why I upgraded vCenter server to 6.5 🙂

I'm using a basic label printer and just printing off the asset tag. We also don't need anything special either. . . so.

Weird. I was trying to add it from my home computer and when I got to work this morning, it was there and had populated it with the feed.

      Dark [feed] Magic

LOL - I was thinking it was because the link was asp not xml but I guess it didn't matter after all.

ASP just means that it is a site using MS ASP technology to generate the page, just like PHP, ASPX and others. ASP is a reference to an application platform. What ASP generates as output is text, like HTML or XML.

ASP, though, was last used around 2002. That's VBScript, most likely.

I would highly recommend a system that uses proximity cards because anything else is just a pain in the ass for users.

If some current system (recall I am 15 years out of touch on this) supports modern NFC standards, you may be able to have a phone app to allow entry. I assume this exists, but I have no idea.

I did see some systems from HID that had mobile device access -

      THe UAP-AC?

4 years ago I was buying the UAP there was the square AC model but I am pretty sure ( on phone now can't look) it was called something other than UAP-AC...

The square AC model is the UAP-AC. The UAP-AC v2 was the round one that followed it.

It's hard to figure out when it originally released, can't find anything on UBNT's site. But I can find online references to it going back a ways.

Ok, well in that case nevermind all is good. I haven't been able to dig into it as I'm dealing with issues in the field.

      I had the same problem:

Microsoft includes a command-line utility with Certificate Services called certutil. This utility performs various operations on certificate files, including converting them to and from base64 format.

Note that this command is run on your certificate server, which, in your environment, may be different from your Exchange server. If so, you need to copy the binary .req file to the certificate server, or make it accessible via a shared network folder or removable storage device.

Open a command prompt on the certificate server and navigate to the folder where your binary .req file is, then type the following command:

      certutil -encode yourbinaryinputfile yourasciioutputfile

      Example:
      certutil -encode der.exchange.example.com.req pem.exchange.example.com.req
You can then open the output file in Notepad and confirm that it is in the correct format to upload to your certifying authority.

Thanks, everyone. Policies are the way to handle it.

Has anyone needed to exclude services/files/directories from being scanned by webroot? For instance, Exchange, SQL, IIS, etc?

Not really. It was recommended by some software vendors but we ignored it and everything kept humming along without issue.

      @kelly said in New Toys!:

At a previous job we rolled out Ubiquiti APs on one site since they were so inexpensive just as test to see if we could move to a controller based system. After the second AP failed of the three we purchased we went with a Ruckus system despite the increased cost. We chose to spend a bit more for apparent reliability.

That said, for my current job I've chosen to do a test deployment of UBNT hardware.

Weird - where did you buy them from? Failures do happen, but 2 out of 3 failing.. that's pretty bad.

I deployed UAPs (22 and no failures) and it has worked flawlessly for me for 8 months so far.

This was 2012-2013 time frame, so given the average experience I'm not knocking them off the list permanently.

They were off of Amazon. From UBNT iirc.

The ERL in 2012/2013 was iffy. But not the basic UAP. interesting experience.
