Unless "paying for something that has a negative impact on them" is an issue. To a business, that is always an issue. It's a "loss event" just like any other, similar to a small outage or dataloss. It's a business mistake that causes measurable lost revenue and puts other revenue at risk. So while a hobby could classify it as "not having any issue", no actual business can.

Took another look this morning, and it's fixed. No idea what was going on with my account last week.

Again, another conversation, but I asked about this at Spiceworld and their follow up was basically "we have no idea what our customers need in general but this one customer needs something unlike anyone else and we are only going to look at their needs" and totally ignoring the needs of the MSP or SMB market, which is really the only one that needs RMM on any scale, especially an RMM like this that does so little.

I swear, simply "not installing it" would make no difference, it seems to add nothing of value other than an inventory list, but that's manually maintained anyway, so we could just make wiki entries for a fraction of the effort.

It does have useful alerts, but nothing that can't be accomplished with open source software.

Interesting, I have never liked OpenText (Last time I used them was with Fax Machines).

I just switched to Webroot and installed it on a server. Webroot was blocking a program from running so I uninstalled it from the console but it didn't remove the webroot agent until I rebooted.

According to the most recent post in that thread (edit - the most recent post is currently 2 weeks old), a beta release fixes this issue. Being that the thread started in December of 2017, it goes to show how long it takes them to fix things.

yes, that is also what we found out, especially in Windows 10.

This seems to be the new spectre v2 update. Seems to have totally borked IE though for many people.

Was the other Webroot issue listed?

Not really. It was recommended by some software vendors but we ignored it and everything kept humming along without issue.

Webroot is going to start making soylent green? That would explain their brand colours.

I like that they make it easy. You were just thinking too much, gotta watch that 😉

That said, it is also extremely simple to install with a keycode as a parameter.

How/why did you go all south on this I have no idea. These instructions are right there in the portal.

I deployed with a BAT file originally, before I made my standard images. Here is one example.

REM Server Group Install \\server\share\wsasme.exe /silent /key=SA3B-YOUR-KEY1-HERE-EE34 /lockautouninstall=somepassword /exeshowaddremove /group=2928509553360002652 <---group number for custom group in portal.

I just double click the installer file....

I was installing directly into different groups with different settings. No need to move things in the console later.

It's a good point. If the AV testing company knows about it and tests for it, then chances are all the AV suites have seen it too. It's very hard to get a fair "real world" test of true zero day threats. My thought would be a better metric would be a sort of "time to respond" metric for security companies. When a new vulnerability hits the streets, how long does it take for all the security companies to remedy it? That would take a lot of work though.
