A feature that I would really like to see on MeshCentral is the option to have background wallpaper blanked out. This reduces bandwidth needs and often goes a long way to improve responsiveness and look & feel when using remote access. Many customers and users have rotating backgrounds that just destroy remote connections.
Speaking to CNN Business, Nadella defended the decision to enter the contract, saying, "We made a principled decision that we're not going to withhold technology from institutions that we have elected in democracies to protect the freedoms we enjoy," adding, "We were very transparent about that decision and we'll continue to have that dialogue [with employees]."
I can get behind this statement. Don't we all want the best tech to help us perform our job? Individuals protecting one's homeland deserve no less than the best offered.
They just bought LogRhythm, where I worked, this summer, and then did layoffs. I left as it wrecked the culture. I'm now at Ping Identity which is safely post-acquisition 🙂
Did HP dump Sonicwall?
I didn't know that HP bought Sonicwall. I knew about Dell.
They are on neither, Sonicwall doesn't belong to Dell like since 2016...
Their immediate support response and the lack of useful documentation on how to actually use the product.
I thought that you were not familiar with them?
I wasn't/aren't. I went to their website, opened the support chat and asked the most basic question "is there a way to identify what host is master, is it with an asterisk" and they said "Are you a paying customer" to which I said "no" to which they said "have the paying customer call or email support"
I see. Well that's pretty normal. I assume that this means that their product keeps running even when out of support.
Normal, yes. But also disappointing.
Fucking what?
I'm sorry but I'm not going to pay an employee to deal with random non paying people wanting support. THat's expensive.
What do you expect from a level 1 chat person anyway?
In 1974, the formula was sold to Beckton-Dickinson to make football helmet linings. But we don't claim that the technology was developed by football players.
