Port - Exporting VM from Hyper-V and into XenServer - having issues

Allright I got the machine live!
So what I did was really plain and simple...

Create a backup and recovery media with Veeam endpoint backup.
Restore the backup onto my xen server (with driver injection).
Boot the machine in safe mode.
Disable hyper-v services (even though they are disabled in hyper-v...)
      Reboot
      Done

I still can't believe it took me so long to figure this one out. I was deleting/editing registry entries related to drivers that I didn't need etc...

I also recommend developing the site on pantheon and then moving it to your server. It's much easier to develop there.

Exactly, thin client you'd pxeboot into your environment and go from there. You don't even need a hard drive.

That's diskless booting. A different topic. A pxebooted machine is very often still a fat client.

      /log=C:\CallRecordingsTest\Winscp.log /script=C:\CallRecordingsTest\CallRecordings.txt

      OR,

If I just have this: /log=C:\CallRecordingsTest\Winscp.log

It will start WinSCP in the background (no GUI, I just know it's running via task manager) but will not put anything in the log file.

      @scottalanmiller

Actually there's no problem in upgrading my OS, the only problem is that I might need to create first a vm for my other apps to work. After this, I might proceed with the upgrade. Actually the purpose of setting up this Hyper V server is for my colleagues to practice on Windows Server VM's. But thanks for the inputs, another day and another learned input from tech gurus like you guys.

      Thanks
      Jeff

I have 2 subscriptions on that account that continues to charge my credit cards....what a pain!

That you can't shut off because they refuse to provide customer service? I would never put a credit card on a Skype account, that's scary.

Call the bank and shut that off. At this point, it's legitimately fraud.

Dominica's Lenovo crashed hard tonight. That thing with Win 10 crashed like once a month. Asus with Ubuntu, never.

Where you still using the WiFi card that came with it? It was totally worth the $65 investment in a third party card for my Yoga. After that - all problems just gone!

And I upgraded to AC, it came with N.

Yes, still using the Lenovo hardware.

If it's PC based, OK I see what you mean, but if it's user based, I would think (but more than willing to be wrong) that you just enter your domain creds and you're good. no?

This is correct, for non-domain joined laptops I can still connect to the corporate network by providing a username and password, and then I'd be on the corporate WLAN. Which is what I was hoping I could do with a projector (if one had such capability).

Why wouldn't it? I suppose it's possible - Look for WPA/WPA2 Enterprise support. The Enterprise piece means RADIUS.

When you SSH in, does it put you in a powershell console?

That would be awesome! That would probably be the best feature of Windows 10 and Server 2016.

Yeah. They've been saying that for forever.

You can use the upgrade tool which is even easier if you are on a current version of owncloud. Even though the article doesn't say anything about updating from owncloud, the first article I posted does say you can use this method on current owncloud servers. You just switch the update channel and search for updates.

If it's a domain machine you can add a local user via powershell on another machine.

From the looks of it it's a VM - so can mount an ISO as a CD and boot from that easily enough I was thinking?

I have a script I run that will remove them. Then I do the upgrade and add them back in via a script. I run a Ubuntu Server for the exact same reason you do. For a Unifi Controller

      Is it possible ?

My Goal is to provide an SSL an intranet site, and keep people using it via LAN and not WAN.

But I dont want to bother with purchasing an Domain name, also I searched and Lets Encrypt doesn't support this it seems, what are my alternatives (I prefer zero cost solutions)

You have no solutions that let you have a trusted certificate unless you set up your own CA internally and have all machines on your network trust the internal CA.

So that is where we are now. A missing package, unclear documentation and yum unable to resolve dependencies for some of the remaining packages. As the support community showed no interest in Kopano being used in production and actually got angry that we wanted to, we decided to halt here. But there is the documentation in case anyone runs into this and wants to pursue it further.
