I had to turn off blocking for a few minutes for another task that was getting messed up. So I clicked through this also.

Turns out that I should not have bothered.

Adding this line (suggestion by Squeakz on #ovirt IRC) fixed the issue.
Each host has 4 nics, I only made the change on the first nic. When I tried on all 4 nics, none of them worked after reboot..

      NM_CONTROLLED=no

My point exactly. Get Network Manager out of the equation on CentOS, things always start working.

what a waste of time. i canned it and went with centrify express, worked 1st time.

Yeah third party software works. I used to use PowerBrokers Identity Services from BeyondTrust... that worked great...

But, it's third party non-open source software.

Now I simply use realmd and winbind:
      https://www.timothygruber.com/linux/samba-file-server-with-microsoft-ad/#Install_Packages

Were you able to get nested groups from AD to work properly on the Samba shares without PowerBroker's software?

Side-note - I never did get a chance to play with that. To much upgrading over the last few months.

Yes nested groups work in Samba.

What does it show if you enter the command: id [email protected]?

Booted up the server yesterday and it only has ubuntu 16.04.
id [email protected] - no such user

I am going to use your notes and build a new server with Fedora and see if I have any sticking points.

Ultimate goal - We use a linux fax server that puts pdf's into each users folder on the share based on the phone number. I am trying to figure out how lock down each users folder using RBAC with nested groups from AD. If that's possible at all.

Trying to move away from Windows in the future. Don't know how successful I will be.

You would need 100x power for 10x the range(like in my example) if i remember radio wave math correctly. And that wouldnt help you receive farther from a regular rfid chip either.

That's essentially why the powershell script does... So you ran the script and you're still not getting correct RDP files from the RD Web site?

yeah, it didn't really work since it is not updating anything on the connection broker. I am going to redo it all...

      Curious.

You mean after I finish redoing it?

Just strange that it isn't working. I have Gateway, Web, and Connection Broker on same system here, so that could be part of it.

Right, my preferred pop is listed in the trunk. I am just uncertain how their failover POPs work. For example, if I have the NJ pop in my Trunk, but the NJ POP becomes unavailable, on the Flowroute side, failover occurs, and traffic is rerouted to another POP. However, in FreePBX, do I need to do anything to list the failover POP IPs in the firewall?

Since there is no inner or outter join specified, inner join is obviously being used where 'join' is specified (outter join having to be explicitly defined where an outter join is needed). How come you explicitly specify 'inner join' at the bottom when you could just use 'join' again as your inner join?

Obviously join and inner join accomplish the same thing, just curious why one is not explicitly defined and the other is.

I expanded on something done by someone from the osTicket team. it was some weird stylistic choice that they made and I just followed.

The argument I'm trying to make is 1) protect olivier from the customers that would abuse the support and 2) make it so that the good customers (big and small) don't get raked over the coals.

Which likely means a per-core cost (or per host* (really doesn't make sense)) and some sort of tiered support plans, like @bnrstnr 4 tickets a year or some such system.

Which is highly effective, cost wise for everyone. Olivier won't get rapped by shitty customers, and customers can up their support level to "Please wipe my ass Tier" if they so choose.

@kelly said in How Can the FTE Model Compete with the MSP Model?:

Maybe not directly for the company, but the MSP has to recoup the costs of time and travel somehow, and that will affect rates if you're going to stay profitable.

That is very true, no denying that. But you can build those costs in. There are certainly costs involved, but there are savings too. You have to look at the whole picture.

In this example, we have housing costs about 20% lower than they do, our fuel is way cheaper ($.25 I bet), and our Internet is a fraction of the cost (about 10% the cost, I kid you not.) Going local to them would require us to raise prices, traveling to them is trivial.
