Terminal should just be using OpenSSH.

This might be the issue. Will have a play after my holidays

In theory, Window's OpenSSH implementation is completely identical to the one on Linux and BSD. I can't way I've tested much in Windows 11, but on 10, it's definitely identical.

"Completely identical" is a bit of a stretch since it's a fork, so it has additions and changes and might not support everything the main project does. It's likely lagging behind the main project too.

But "works the same" or "practically the same" or "has the same code base"...

Microsoft only has one fork, so windows version shouldn't make any noticeable difference.

PS. In OP's case he has probably hasn't the right key in openssh. OpenSSH and Putty don't share their ssh keys. They are in different folders.

Correct - you should be using PJsip. Also as far as changing extensions, you can run into the same issue even if you use the same extension number but you change the channel driver from SIP to PJSIP. This is how I've accomplished the task for remote phones that you can't touch. From your EPM, issue a reboot. Then real quick, you change the extension to use PJSIP, go to EPM, and then do a rebuild. If you do it properly, the phone will then grab the new settings and reconfigure itself and work just fine. You can of course do the same thing if you are changing the extension number on it.

(btw - I hate emails as a communication tool)

I'm an "email first" person, it's my preferred tool for everything communications related. DeltaChat is great and is a WhatsApp / Telegram style chat client built on top of email. (That's actually a form of email client to check out just because it is interesting to see it and realize it is a mail client.) I've run email hosting businesses and run email for one of the world's biggest companies, so I'm pretty passionate about email 🙂

Zoho is definitely my number one. But it is proprietary.

If you want to see open source clients in action, I'd recommend starting with MailCow to see what is out there. RoundCube is big, too.

It's widely known that after you install software you should - reboot.

While many application function at one hundred percent right after install, some do not.

noMachine is like that it would seem. Thanks to @stacksofplates for mentioning this simple but very effective fact.

While I had installed noMachine, I hadn't performed that task on either the host or viewer.

Thus far - it's been working as designed and across platforms. I still need to test via the iPad - where I had had so much issue previously.

    Thanks again -

    No problem!

It's not just a list of all extensions, it's broken out into areas and departments, etc.

Yes, I imagine that would be the case for most companies.

The thing is that it would be helpful to have a system to manage it. Different companies, departments, persons or function will have different needs but a good system should be able to accommodate most of those needs with a minimal amount of work.

Integration between different system is what is need to avoid doing the same work in multiple places. The whole point of having things in a system instead of manually doing it, is to save time and provide organization and when possible automation.

I don't see a problem replacing files with better system on the technical level. But actually finding system that can get the job done without going with bespoke solutions can be tough. And bespoke software isn't cost effective in a lot of cases.

I think a paper copy only works until you're more than a page. We're still at a single page.

I think you can keep it going for quite some time - if you wanted to.

A long time ago I worked at a company that printed their own little phone book with all the internal extensions and numbers. It had maybe 30 pages or so.

I feel like if the site had funky PHP, that would take the site down for everyone.

If it is making a bad calls that are similar to logins, that would do it. Fail2Ban (or similar) look for errors from an IP address. So a single IP gets affected.

The noise cancellation works really good. I don't know about factory floor good, but real good.

Do you find the (roughly) 500' range to be accurate? I only need 100' but with a few walls in between.

    Walls hit Bluetooth pretty hard.

The model I linked is DECT.

Oh okay, those work even better.

I've been using the PBS as well for the backups - it's so much better than manually doing full backups of VMs (which was the case with KVM and it's tools).

So thumbs up for Proxmox from me.

We've been using PBS too for backups more recently.

Most software have help -> about menu option and it should list software vendor.

If you can log in 😉

But we know the ERP is Oracle NetSuite. But like everyone, they went through a reseller and lost the more important contacts.

Literally no one has any emails on that at all? have all the people in the company who were involved in that project left the company and their email has been deleted?

Correct. The people involved quit and the powers that be decided to just delete their accounts rather than manage them in some way. So all contact is lost.

Exactly what I've been telling them.

VPNs and AD the same. The mesh "should" not pose any threat because there should be nothing exposed over the mesh. But given the rest of the design, we can safely assume there are security holes everywhere and they are just trying to open more.

These are the flags that hackers look for for finding easy targets.

Not familiar with Wix at all, I'm afraid. They don't have a good reputation. The new GeoCities.

Well it does help me as I am still in a SOLO IT shop after 11 years...don't have time to code a website...

Is Wix saving you time? LOL

You don't code websites, you use tools like Hugo or Gatsby if you need something simple, or WordPress if you need a CMS.

One of the reasons those tools are recommended for businesses is the time savings.

It might actually help now, there's every possibility that it might actually be faster to move to something else than to troubleshoot Wix where you are dependent on their support.

Well, it also helps that the owners daughter wants control of website too so this is another reason I did Wix about 5-6 years ago.

That makes sense. WordPress is typically used specifically for that too, but doesn't tie you in to a vendor-only supported product where the host owns the site that you make. WP keeps you from being able to be extorted for support or whatever. That's its purpose (to allow easy editing by a staff of people.) Since WP is the best known tool, it's the one that best allows random third party people to be involved.

Definitely seems odd to pick Wix over WP.

Maybe they already knew it (the daughter). Wix is definitely my #1 platform to avoid. It's been the bane of the web since its inception. Just a totally shit product and lots of people avoid companies that host with it as being similar to using hotmail email instead of your domain.
