Not enforceable ever for non-EU companies. That breaks international laws right there.

The only reason it applies to companies like Google for example... is because they are actually an established company in the EU (and most other countries).

Mangolassi, for example, would be a US only based company. So it wouldn't apply.

But imho, just because you don't have to, doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to offer the courtesy.

Sure, and people have that, they can just rename their accounts and poof it's taken care of.

The account name is the only possible piece of exposure. If you don't use your real name there, then nothing exists.

If the data has any value, you don't do RAID 0 anyway. If speed is important, then adding fast cache drives makes a lot of sense, and is one reason to use RAID 0 (speed of access to ephemeral data). If the single cache drive fails, it just falls back to functioning without a cache.

I read that if there is data loaded in the failed drives (ala memory) that data is lost. Is that not the case?

Yes. This is why you don't load valuable data on a RAID0, ever.

MOst systems require RAID 1 for cache.

OK looks like the actual incident took place on Feb 17, definitely not the understanding I got from listening to Security Now. They keep saying "Last Friday" as in Feb 24.

Fixed it. You had used the tags incorrectly. You can only use that on unbroken paragraphs. You had it on a big block of text that had paragraph breaks in the middle, so there was no open/close tag pairs.

Ah, well, good thing that wasn't a rattlesnake, I'd be dead.

That's weird, though. They just blanket block images with the size in the description? That will randomly break who knows what.

And those who are blocking ads just by size generally know that as well and will unblock things as needed.

How do they know when something is needed?

I block all that stuff by default with ublock - if a site shows up funny or seems like i'm missing a key part of it - i unblock stuff on ublock. Would I install ublock for our average end user - no - they don't seem to understand it. Ad block plus seems to be a bit friendlier to the average user.

I've had no issues this morning.

Noticed that too. Probably a "fast forward" function? Seems to happen mostly when you scroll fast.

I'm usually on fast lines (4G/LTE, 100 MBit, 1GbE, 10GbE), so I can't say much about the behavior on slow lines.

The speed at which my inbox is filling. Holy Crap Batman!

I hate email notifications. so i have that all turned off.

I do too, but Jared and I both keep the site open and keep watching it all the time, so getting emails is unnecessary for us as we know that there is something happening on the site faster than email would tell us anyway.
