Issue Reading Thread

As I'm reading "Domain Controller Down (VM)" , I get to post 311 and the next post is 552. What happened to 312 to 551? Anyone else ever experience this?
Sorry if this has been announced before.

I was able to leave the thread, come back, and click on continue where I left off (or whatever it says) to read the rest.

I've noticed something similar, where I'll be reading the thread, it changes because someone has made a post, and then trying to scroll down will result in a jump upwards some way.
Not sure if it's ever been mentioned or not.
I just usually F5 on the page and the issue goes away.

On busy threads, this will occasionally happen.
So I assume that something in the tracking gets messed up during a background fresh.
I am sure it could happen on any thread that changes while viewing, but most people will not be in a less active thread during a time when updates happen so it only gets noticed on active threads.
The issues has been around for a long time. More than a year.

Other than moving to pagination, there isn't really a fix. If you paginate, this goes away.

This issue happens to me frequently on any thread more than 30-40 posts when I scroll back more than 20 or say posts.

I never see this when simply scrolling back and forth unless I am on a slow internet connection.

Noticed that too. Probably a "fast forward" function? Seems to happen mostly when you scroll fast.
I'm usually on fast lines (4G/LTE, 100 MBit, 1GbE, 10GbE), so I can't say much about the behavior on slow lines.
