I looked at that and it seems really nice.

We have been talking about testing it with a client.

Have not tried that. Would be awesome to see working.

I'd love to have had more time to play with it than being given the go-ahead at 3 pm on Friday to have it done by Tuesday morning at 8 am. After cleaning up the Server 2016 that was an attempt @ ADFS by the on-site that assumed A records are auto-created because Azure is integrated and AD, AD Connect, IIS, and SQL would be "OK" on the same server.

Easy way to prevent it is to open Terminal and then...

#switches you to the root account.
      sudo -i

#lets you set a root password.
      passwd

I'm aware. I just read the article this morning and I hadn't finishing setting up this new MBP I got to replace my Mid 2012 MBP 13.

      Talk about timing, ha ha!

      You go that right.

The logs say the switches aren’t saturated, but I wonder is a network broadcast issues can’t be an issue here in the new network size.

I'm going to have to verify the network settings are correct tomorrow again since the 5 NICs associated with the nodes are all over the place I'm going to guess it has something to do with that.

They said they had this exact same issue a few months ago but the logs do not go back that far so I cannot compare the events. But having the cluster fail twice in 2 days isn't sitting right with me since it started occurring just days after switching IP ranges.

I've dumped all the logs and documented everything I have found that look out of place.

Isn't the SAN network isolated both physically and logically from everything else?

Nope he said they are not.

That's not good. So it isn't really a SAN, just a normal network with SAN traffic dumped onto it?

@kyle do you mean you will publish the application to the desktop?

      We currently have 4 2008 servers running XenApp 6. IE 11 doesn't support IE11 but 2008 R2 does.

I was looking at adding a 2008 R2 node to the 4 2008 servers and wondered if there is any issues or beat practices to mixing 2008 & 2008 R2 in a clustered XenApp farm to publish a newer app only supported on 1 server.

I remember, and this is a long time ago, issues with adding an R2 server to a 2008 RDSH farm and having temporary profile issues. It was common to see someone add an 2008 R2 RDHS server to a 2012 RDSH to provide IE11 support. I think the connection broker needs an update.

2016 RDSH is a big change. I have been testing Citrix vs 2016 RDSH and for full desktop Citrix doesnt add anything more than I have found with cheaper add-on products. I realize you are probably serving apps up though.

But I would google about temp profile issues before doing what you are doing. And again, not sure that would affect your XenApp situation.

This is litteraly a temp fix as prior to my joining the team they're moving away from Citrix to RDS.

The problem with the workaround that's in place is is It a thin client to connect to Citrix and launch IE11 tthrough a RDP into another server running IE11 which prevents the user from performing some tasks.

If you mention it in a different context.... the bank robber was stressed and so murdered the witnesses.

That's great but "stressed" doesn't excuse the action, especially when the stress was the result of the guilty party. The CFO would not have been stressed here if someone (maybe him) had not screwed up to begin with. Just like the bank robber didn't need to rob the bank, the junior dev didn't need to be set up for failure. That the CFO or the bank robber chose to be in stressful situations and then use that as an excuse to do something far worse than the thing that caused the stress was their own choice and reverts the blame back to themselves again.

Ever see grass grow in the summertime in Florida? It rains daily and the grass grows ridiculously fast!

You would have to "print" daily

Not really grass. It's some creepy plant.

You know what I am talking about then...lol

We had a little of that in Texas, but not very much. Mostly real grass. In Florida it would be gross to go barefoot. Back in New York you like to feel that grass between your toes. Not in Florida.
