I haven't. This freshly installed machine (last tuesday) was the first time I've ever run into this issue.

Which frankly is surprising considering I am using a cleanup script that does disable Cortana... so I should have possibly been having this problems since the first patch issue...

This link walks you through tweaking Chrome on MS's page to look like you're using an iPAD Pro to download 1809 or 1903 directly.

So to summarize - if you just change the user agent in the browser, so Microsoft don't think you're running Windows, you can download iso-files directly.

Aka user agent spoofing.

I have non-adjoined VMs for testing things like that. Click the link, open the files, whatever... then restore the VM snapshot after, just in case, lol.

Once you turn them down, you can just mark them as spammers and block them. There is no requirement to respond at all.

That is useless as it means the encrypted media is useless between macOS and Windows.

That's not an issue. There is no requirement to transport data between Mac and Windows devices on USB drives.

The point of wanting to use USB media is for portability. Otherwise, you simply disable it.

I don't know how many users are sticking data on a USB drive from a Mac, then giving it to someone else or marching it over to a Windows device, or vice versa, but if that's the case, there are ways to make it work.

Yup. Don't mess with it.

Drop a copy of the files in question into a \Temp folder then delete from the local and redirected folder, sync, and finally put it back into the local folder. Then sync again.

Of course it was still broken today - well, the display portion was at least.

While continuing to work on this, since I could see the Manage box, I decided to try to tab to it, and it worked. I pressed enter with it highlighted and I was able to manage it.

Now my goal was to set it as default, the set as default button was missing. After some searching around, I realized that the "Let Windows manage my default printer" box had become rechecked. After unchecking it, and once again using the tab trick to get into manage the MS Print to PDF feature, I was able to set it as the default printer.

So I've found a work-a-round, but the display issue is still there so I don't consider the issue resolved.

I believe he disabled just the individual source of the notifications. In this case the Chrome notifications from the shady websites.

Yep, that's what I did - disabled the specific website that the user had allowed to notify.
