@JaredBusch said in How to add a sip notify command to FreePBX 14 to force Yealink phones to reboot:

After everything reloads, you can open up a ssh session and tell a phone to restart like this.

asterisk -rx "pjsip send notify restart-yealink endpoint 110"

You can also do more than one phone at a time. Just space delimit them .

asterisk -rx "pjsip send notify restart-yealink endpoint 103 108 110"

The downside to this is that the FreePBX team simply implemented the no reboot flag to the existing reboot-yealink command. unlike the multiple commands for the Sangoma phones.

      0_1543282841223_bc79c9df-ec75-492b-a23b-d976e99dd85a-image.png

So this means, you have no way to reboot Yealink phones at all with a built in sip notify command.

Had this error after installing a new commercial certificate. The error seems valid as my server hostname and certificate name do not match, but it is my understanding this name mismatch is allowed and should still work.

To resolve this I just ran these two commands as Zimbra user.
      zmlocalconfig -e ldap_starttls_required=false
      zmlocalconfig -e ldap_starttls_supported=0

I am slightly concerned as to the security implications of disabling these settings. I am still on ldap not ldaps and this is on CentOS 7.

@flaxking You mean actual graphs and reports on stats gathered over time? Grafana is all about that

I mean like if you wanted to report on all the different OSes you have running - which I didn't think was possible using Prometheus + Grafana without determining a numeric value for each OS, but it looks like I'm wrong about that.

The only way I can think of doing that is having each OS type in a different job. At least it used to be true that Prometheus doesn't support string metrics. I hadn't seen anything where they've changed that.

      That's how we did it.

@travisdh1 is here, just took the HP Integrity and the SunFire Blade.

Probably won't be firing them up for a couple of weeks till after I get settled in at the new place, but man these were some sought after pieces of equipment in their day.

I still remember hackers using the SunFire workstations to reprogram smart cards, got all the channels available on DirectTV for free.

We found the serial cables less than an hour after you left!

That figures. I've got the workstation tho, one of the things that were always way more expensive than I could ever hope to actually buy. Just because they first came out around Y2K doesn't mean I won't spend too many hours poking it.

yeah, the default user for centos is centos with your KMS or privatekey they create. For Ubuntu is Ubuntu.

Interesting concept when snaps and flatpacks take over, would it matter to have Fedora or Ubuntu ?

Snaps and Flatpack are already here and are nothing but "yet another packaging format." Fedora vs Ubuntu differences still remain. They aren't separated primarily by their package managers.

The one different with snap on Fedora compare to ubuntu is that SELinux can cause issues with snap apps.

If you don't want that, though, just turn it off. Then you are in the same boat as Ubuntu without it anyway.

Yeah, SELinux is disabled on my Fedora workstation. Too many annoying crashes because of it. I’m all good with keeping in enabled on my server installs.

@JaredBusch said in Guide for VM Server Migration...:

Except he does not actually what migration he wants a copy of the VM on the other server so you can test to break things without messing with his live system

Then I would set up replication to the new server. After replication is finished, you can disable replication and be left with a replica you can reconfigure offline.

It's the easiest way to get a real copy somewhere else with minimal effort and requirements.

      You'd untar them.

That is a full check. But without paying to download the file you just uploaded, you hash the file first and send the hash along with the upload. B2 will hash it when completed and verify that it matches your supplied hash. If it doesn’t, it asks it to reupload.

One thing you haven't taken into consideration though - is the time value of money.

But I have. It takes moments to do the math that this is a bad idea. In any case we're discussing a business who is installing a new phone e system and phones.

So the business has the money, but would it be better to expense with however many thousands upfront? At least in my business they would opt to make the spend today, and then they'd write it off over the usable life of the equipment.

With that, yes it's still a capital expense. And hopefully that expense was planned for and already budgeted.

That had been the typical situation here until recently. Much to my utter amazement we've leased two pretty major pieces of gear - CT machine and our entire printer fleet. I know in the case of printers, we'll be saving money over what we were paying our previous provider, the purchase option might have saved us a small amount, but we would have to have taken out a loan, and the interest would have made the end spend nearly the same.

Anyone know of a way in which I can run the Windows RSAT tools from my non domain joined W10 PC?

I go from client to client and I'm hoping to be able to run the Windows admin tools from my PC.

Or anyone know of an alternate program that may work?

That is totally not how any of that works.

About the only thing that I can think of is to simply right click and run as.

But you also will run into the problem that RSAT tools are different on ever system

Nah, that'll only run the app as whoever on the local PC, it doesn't parse auth credentials to the external entity.

This works "runas /netonly /user:domain\username "mmc dsa.msc /server=REMOTEDC" but you have to run it from a cmd/powershell box & wait for the password prompt. It's also fiddly if you want to work in different apps that reside within different domains.

That's the beauty of security. Some outsider can't just come in to someone's network with their own hardware and successfully connect from all the RSAT tools.

Isnt that what PAW is for?

      CLI is grate and quicker
I used just one command "fwconsole ma upgradeall" and it's upgrading all modules

I really need to start learning commands

After doing the upgrade command, you need to tell it to reload.

      fwconsole reload

The reload command is the same as pressing the red "Apply" button.
