RE: Integrating OnlyOffice with NextCloud
Also, I have some great news! ONLYOFFICE and Nextcloud formed an official technological partnership which means that we are ready to enhance our integration. How? We wrote a blog post about it. Brief overview:
What has been done:
Sharing via public link
Easier work with OpenDocument
Virtual app appliances installation (the easiest way to install the ONLYOFFICE+Nextcloud combo).
Connecting ONLYOFFICE desktop
Inserting images from the file manager
Converted file downloading from the file manager.
Sharing from the editor
RE: Integrating OnlyOffice with NextCloud
Hello, I represent ONLYOFFICE here, and I can answer your questions, although @scottalanmiller has already done my job, I think)
We have both free and commercial builds. Just take ONLYOFFICE Community Edition (to be more exact Document Server that is a part of CE) if you need a free one. It is easy.
Just install our Document Server. We recommend using Docker https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/server/docker/document/docker-installation.aspx
Get the integration app from the Nextcloud App Store https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/onlyoffice
Go to the Nextcloud settings and do this https://monosnap.com/file/X8NYAafxd9gxiBSDFIEQwBWNLPxYZQ
CE has some limitations - up to 20 users. The license is AGPL v3
Integration Edition (IE) is a commercial build, a way of delivering our Document Server to enterprises.
The source code of Document Server is open and available on GitHub, so both CE and IE are open source.
Sorry if our website seemed complicated, the thing is that we have many products - for home users, SMBs, for developers, and so on. But I here to answer the questions, really sorry that I missed previous ones.

RE: Call for testing: ONLYOFFICE Documents 2.0 for Android
Well, the beta testing of ONLYOFFICE Android app was completed successfully, and the stable version is already available on Google Play with all the new features
The next step will be to add local docs editing (without connecting to ONLYOFFICE portal). There are a lot of requests to add the possibility to connect the app directly to Nextcloud. Hope that we will also be able to add that.
RE: ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors, an alternative to LibreOffice, got new tab-based interface
@emad-r this app can be connected to ONLYOFFICE cloud (corporate or free personal), or to the self-hosted version so that you can work with your files stored online. It does not work with NC, but thnx for the idea.
However, we have an app to connect ONLYOFFICE server to Nextcloud - https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/onlyoffice-owncloud
ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors, an alternative to LibreOffice, got new tab-based interface
ONLYOFFICE has released version 5.1 of their desktop app for editing text documents, spreadsheets and presentations offline. The app is catching up with the online version and getting its new features, including:
- New tabbed toolbar;
- Navigation panel for Table of Contents in the left panel and export to RTF in the text editor;
- 11 new formulas and improved cell formatting in the spreadsheets;
- Special paste and presentation-level comments in the presentations.
The new toolbar is the main update here. What do you think of it?
Download from official website. The suite runs on Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, XP, Vista (x32 and x64), Debian, Ubuntu and RPM-based Linux distributions, Mac OS 10.10 and newer. It is also available as a snap package (for all Linux distributions supporting snapd) and AppImage.
