Also, remember it is XenServer and not Xen server, those mean two different things. I'm assuming you mean Citrix XenServer here?

If this is CentOS you need to either turn off SELinux (probably best here) or reset the permissions again.

How to migrate the VM of Xenserver in WAN? This can be as simple as copying the files from one place to the other. VM migrations from XS to XS is very simple. You can do Storage VMotion too. How much time the VM will be taken for the migration process? How big is the VM and how fast is the pipe? This is just a matter of calculating how long it takes a file to travel over the WAN. How to migrate the VM in WAN? Isn't this the first question reworded?

If you simply ask yourself how this would be done, you should be able to reason out why it will not work. If you have two humans and you need to transfer some items that they own from one to the other and you are supplies only with the addresses of the two people but are not told which items to transfer or even what items they have, what do you do?

You could reword your question, then, like this...

I need to copy some files from one place to another but I don't know what the files are and are not allowed to specify them. How do I perform magic?

This is pretty much where you are. You want to move things from one place to another but you don't want to say what those things are. How are you envisioning that this would work?

Exactly, how do you know you were hacked? Unencrypted Kerberos packets can be used in an offline attack to crack a password, but if you're using a strong enough password this would take to long.

So first things first, I'd say use a better password, but if you're still worried about it, do as @scottalanmiller suggests and upgrade and encrypt your authentication traffic.

Ah, testing is not related to "breaking" or "integrating" or "accessing." Using those words led us down the garden path.

We had a physical server change and did a fresh install rather than an upgrade from 6.2 to 6.5 so did not need to do it or I would have had a first hand experience to share. We are on XenServer 6.5 and have been for a bit now. The final product is awesome.

If he insists, tell him to check with Citrix how to do this. He is not paying for support and Citrix does not document how to verify this.

The desktop is going to need a specific link. Not sure how Ubuntu does this and it will vary by the desktop that you have chosen. But it might be something really simple like just making a symlink to the right folder.

Yeah, that's all I think should be necessary. I haven't used Ubuntu Desktop in years. I've been exclusively CLI for a few years now.
