@handsofqwerty Yes now it is working properly and now the service is started and I have joined this machine in nagios now.Thank you now it is working properly.

Ok, it's usually something simple like that. I run in root mode all the time on all my Linux machines, so I constantly forget to tell people to use "sudo" because I never have to...

One of the problems of coming from a "root" system like RHEL or CentOS and switching to a "sudo" system like Ubuntu. Need everything prefaced with sudo.

My issue is with the Wordpress utility for Linux that allows you to manage Wordpress via CLI. There are so many things you have to either be root or using sudo to do, but you have to append "--allow-root" to every freaking command that you run as root, even if the command requires root privileges to do what it needs to. It's so stupid!

@thanksajdotcom One small doubt. Can I install the jre package which I downloaded from the internet either installing the steps you have mentioned to download the JDK .

I don't even think you have to install it. Once extracted you just have to add that path to your user PATH. I think AJ explained that in the last thread.

Extracting it is the entire install. We showed him this, that he had successfully installed it on the other thread. He never responded and just kept trying to run apt-get to install a DEB package that we kept telling him didn't exist.

I gave him line by line steps for EXACTLY what to do. I don't mind repeating myself if something isn't fully understood or if someone missed something, but I do not like that he asks a question, ignores the answer, and then just re-asks the same questions.

If even shows it's poor engineering. The power connector is right on the edge of the chassis instead of in the center as it should be. Also why use a mickey mouse plug over a IEC C14 3 prong that is normal for network/servers.

It's the cheapest Chinese junk that money can't buy.

If I remember right the DL160 is pretty much useless as a normal server. I've seen cheap people use them as that but they are really meant to be used in a high density web farm.

You are thinking of the right one. It's slightly better than the DL140, but only in that it has SCSI instead of ATA drives. It's not meant to be a standard server at all. Lacks all the server hardware and is no more reliable than a nice desktop. Lacks full IPMI and other tooling.

I am curious why you are assigning permissions to users rather than groups (or at least it looks that way as the groups are non descriptive).

Also is sba1, sba2 and @sba1 all users or groups?

Again, I like helping people. Most people view someone who constantly corrects someone as haughty or kind of a jackass. @scottalanmiller can back me up on this, but when people with my type of mind correct you, it's to benefit you.

If you look like a jackass, smell like a jackass, and sound like a jackass, guess what? You're probably a jackass. Saying "people with my type of mind" is just a cop-out, I don't know why you're name dropping Scott - I don't see him being a jackass.

I name dropped @scottalanmiller because he understands how I think. Most people will constantly correct someone to be condescending. That's not me. I do it because I want to help someone and help them improve. It's the exact opposite motivation as most people. I know most people don't understand that and quite literally have a mental block that means they can't. They are so conditioned to how it is with most of the world.

Still, from a statistical standpoint, people like me and @scottalanmiller are a tiny percentage of the population.

Yes, study materials of all sorts are good. Cheating is bad and hurts everyone, not just you personally or your region but it undermines the industry as a whole as well.

What does taking a snapshot of the software mean to your manager? That's not a normal term. It doesn't mean anything specific in this instance.

Yup, I asked about this before, because his manager seems to love to make up terms.

In some ways that makes it impossible to do what he wants. In other ways, you can do anything and say you did what he wants.

Yeah, because what he says means nothing, you could technically do anything and say you thought it applied.
