I'm with Scott - why would you want to do this, even for testing? If you want to make sure mail services are working, you can simply telnet into your email host use some hello/ello commands, etc to test the ability to send/pickup email, but configuring a command line client, I'm baffled.

In that case, let's work on moving to good business experience. This is the kind of thing that your old boss would have had you do. Do not use VMware Workstation. If you need a type 2 hypervisor, first thing is to get the current Ubuntu, not an old one, and then use VirtualBox.

Yes, I'm not aware of any business process that would have you changing the kernel in Ubuntu. That's a fun thing to try for a hobby just to see if you can, but it is not a normal business process as it does not lead to stability and reliability. Imagine running Windows XP but deciding to install the Windows 10 kernel. Not likely going to work and no business has ever tried to do this. But it might be fun to know "if you could."

Yes of course, we've been using it for years and other non-updated NodeBB forums attached to it still work just fine. It is the new plugin update that broke it.

I expected as much, simple to do.

I've had success with Revo uninstaller before. But I agree, I would get rid of the cracked version and just use the free version. Who knows what's been installed along with the cracked version.

Use telnet to test the post to ensure that it is listening for yp requests.

It's a part of Windows supplied by Microsoft. Rather like a role. I don't believe that it is included by default anymore and needs to be added.

The remaining 33% is all kinds of things, like family, friends, eating, bathing, commuting, hobbies, television, video games, etc.

I'll say what everyone is thinking: Lots and lots of money.
Then, you can afford good doctors, buy training subscriptions and afford beautiful friends (hehe). bam.

Bridging and routing are different things. One is layer 2 and one is layer 3. But neither will work if he bonds the NICs.
